  • I don't like the CTS at all, it's way too small, I wish they would have just gave this car a fresh update, without the Northstar!

  • As fine a car as any of its foreign competition. If it had carried a German or Jap badge it would have sold a million.

  • the engine on the 2005-2011 (US) 2007-present (China) Cadillac STS/

    Cadillac SLS (China)

    Engine

    3.6 L LY7 V6

    4.4 L V8

    4.6 L Northstar LH2 V8

  • Oragaaamy. Hahaha that guys pronunciation sucks,

  • I wish you wimps would stop buying the base model pussy motors so they would just stop making them.

  • I have an 2008 STS V8 and it is wonderful. I love driving it. It is so not HO HUM. JP

  • my mother was given a choice between the 2009 STS V-8 Norstar! and a merc milan and she choose the milan due to the color of the car...

  • the 2005–2011 (US) 2007–present (China) Cadillac STS is assembled in

    Lansing, Michigan, United States

    Shanghai, China

    Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia

  • @djkasdjkasdjdjdj The Cadillac STS is alot bigger and is more spacious in the interior and trunk. The Cadillac CTS is more of a sporty car and alot smaller like for say Mercedes has the E-Class and the C-Class. The E-Class is like the STS it is more of a car for a Mom of two kids or you know just for someone who needs a bigger car. The C-Class is like the CTS for like a college kid or someone who wants a sporty smaller car. Hope this helps you.

  • So this Cadillac is supposed to compete against cars like the Lexus LS and BMW 7 series, or like the Mercedes E-class and Lincoln MKS?

  • whats the different between the cts & sts again??

  • i like the cts better

  • ugly

  • Check out our webshow's closer look at the STS!

  • This car looks like it was designed by someone who only had a ruler

  • One of the ugliest cars in the history of forever!!

  • @MarsunWiikset what re you 12?

  • @JimboSlice114 and you must be 13! Good for you pall. Open your eyes and make a notice on the floppy design of that thing!

LOLOLO senile old granpa can't see the car because his vision got blurry back in the 1700's.

  • Wonderful review. Great info. Technical without being boring and interesting without being sappy.

  • Why isn't this car dead yet? It is lonngggg overdue

  • my dad has the sts and its sweet

  • Like the CTS - Very good, especially for a GM car, but not yet as good as its German or Japanese competitors.

  • is it just me or does the shell of the car look like a ford fusion?

  • @firedragon689

cadillac should have updated the style on this car for 2008. Problem is, they leave their cars without updates for 8 year spans.

I just got one for $30,000 (20,000K on it) with V6, AWD, fully loaded. remote start, moonroof, Nav, heated/cooled seats - the works.

I'm very happy with the amount of car I got for the money. In fact, it was a better deal than the CTS lease I considered.

  • @dslcobra yeah it's a big waste of money to buy a new one because there value drops like crazy during the first 2 to 3 years. And congrats on the car

  • @firedragon689

If you can't buy a Cadillac as soon as its released, or mid cycle, its not worth it - if you're a style queen.

However, if you just want a good long term car and are willing to spend up to $2000 for extended warranty, their cars have merit. I like that their warranty gives you a GM/Cadillac rental car.

My aunt has an SRX. They lent her a Chevy Crossover when she put it in for service.

  • @dslcobra sounds good, but don't most companies do that?

  • @firedragon689

Some companies fuck up so badly, they go back to the drawing board, mid cycle. Perfect example - BMW 745.

  • @dslcobra very good point there

  • @dslcobra Funny because the 745/750/760's models were the best selling 7-Series models to date....

  • @uberenthusiasts

The 745 was quickly discontinued. Check your facts.

  • @dslcobra Sir, the E65 745 served a normal lifetime from 2001-2004 (4 years)...the revised E66 750 served from 2005-2008 (also 4 years)....doesn't seem like a quick discontinue to me. I highly suggest you check yours. Im not a top moderator on Bimmerfest for nothing.

  • @uberenthusiasts

And since you got those stats, TELL ME WHAT THE RELIABILITY RATINGS WERE FOR THE 745...since you have so much fucking time on your hands.

  • @dslcobra The reliability ratings were below average for the E65 745/760....everyone knows that, however, this obviously did not hinder sales, as we have seen thus far. Now that you have been proven wrong multiple times, I suggest you research THOROUGHLY, so you don't make an ass of yourself anymore.

  • same my car its Cadillac sts 2008 very strong and beuty

  • This guy has no idea what he's talking about saying this is not a car of heritage design. It clearly has Cadillac heritage all over it. The sharp crisp lines and stacked headlights are inspired from 60's Caddys. The sloped rear pillar and short stubby trunk are inspired from the 80-85 Seville. The rear looks as if it was inspired from the late Eldo of 92-04.

  • I had the honor of driving the 2011 STS for the weekend and it was great! That car is beautiful it stands out, it's bolder than Mercedez and BMW because face it, those cars are so commercial that they turned bland like Honda.

It's smooth and comfortable on a road trip and it's fast and fiery when you put it in sport mode. I timed the STS at 0-60 in 6.9 seconds. I've driven Mercedez, BMW, Acura and none were like this.

  • i'm a ford man but i want one

  • GM are idiots for ignoring the STS and letting it die off.

  • @th3ha1og0d

The STS (and DTS) was poorly targeted. The car is simply too expensive and the styling isn't as sharp as say a new E350 or even the 2008 CTS. In fact, unless you are a family of large people, the CTS is a better deal than the STS by far.

GM didn't let the car die. They just happened to go through bankruptcy in the middle of its production. They are going to replace it with the XTS.

  • This guys monotone voice makes me want to punch something in anger

  • @StoneCold75 he talks too slowly

  • @StoneCold75 lol

  • Nice car, too bad the CTS, DTS and STS pretty much look the same, with slight differences

  • It's not just the STS that is underrated, It's the entire Cadillac brand, they've made quite a comeback in the past few years.

  • Such a mis-understood car. The STS would be my favorite Cadillac, and we would have gotten it over the CTS if it wasn't for the interior. The interior is definitely its only weak spot. Don't get me wrong it's nice, and comfortable, but compared to the CTS it's hard to chose. Either way the STS's exterior is beautiful.

  • @fp3shb i agree i like the sts better too but like you said the interior isnt wat i think it could or should be

  • i wish they had ipod jacks, thats my only complaint.

  • If you can afford it, it's definitely worth it!

  • The v8 is 4.6L not 4.4L> The STS-V has the 4.4L Supercharged.

  • Cadillac's are the only cars i'll ever buy .

  • Cadillac is the only American car I like...

  • Xcuse me! Probly I don't get something. Cadillac CTS belongs to E-class. What does STS belong to?

  • @myjanuary151987

no. the CTS belongs to the C class, the STS belongs to the E.

  • seriously... cadillacs looks way better then the other luxury brand... esp lexus

  • all you clowns out there need to recognize what a real car looks like! If you guys think this whip is ugly then u guys honestly have mad issues!

  • i am just gonna say one thing...i u guys out there think this is a wak ride...go cop your 3 series or ur lil c class or A-Nothing....this is a beast on the street......sooo smooth...the real homies will understand!

  • Damn, I re watched this one and can say, that comparing to Caddy German shit like bmw or merc can suck hard. Bravo, USA car manufacturer.

  • my brother has this car and its a fuckin smooth ass ride.

Powerfull v6 which surprised me and its really comfortable.

  • I'll take this car over any E-class, M, GS or, 5-series! ;-)

  • @BklynJayL haha stupid noob you'll be a looser 4 eVeR biAtcHHHHhhhhh

  • 3:36

I like the keyless start buttom

  • I love it. I mean it's doesn't have the. "WOW" factor like the CTS, SRX Etc. It's simpler though. And I think it looks very nice.

  • this car to ME looks like an old person's car.

  • Is this a joke? lmfao

  • The chrome on these Cadillacs are metal. I find it "tacky" when I take a look at my mothers 2008 CRV which cost like $30,000 and find all of the "chrome" emblems are plastic. The ride is terrible and so is the noise in the cabin. Face it, American cars are coming back.

  • Too late, you already posted and hit "enter" so you knew quite well what you were wishing to do.

My STS sitting next to any Jap car looks menacing, and with my v8 SOUNDS menacing too. I will not get into the whole Euro battle, because Mercedes and BMW are still the kings of luxury, but then again I dont want a Euro car, I wanted (and bought) Americas best..And I love it

  • @chap8938 what??? u think Plastic (Japanese cars) and Bland (European) looks more expensive than chromed aluminium? each tastes

  • american cars were obsessed with chrome in the past when they were good.

  • looks like a nissan sentra

  • @newdude100 yeah i thought the same

  • @UFCextra

    No more like 50k.

  • I'm really liking this!

  • Very fine automobile...but, Wow! Over 76k.??? That's is waaaay over priced! I Love GM. but, they're gonna have to lower that price about a good 15-20k.!

  • Great car but about $10,000 overpriced.

You can get comprable or better cars in the $34-$37k price range!

Another problem, all the Car Rental cos run these and *after two years* the Cadillac that you paid $45-$50k for is then going for $25k used!

  • on the up side its an awesome car to buy used

  • Oh yeah! I agree, they're a great value at 2 years old and $23-$25k no doubt!

But, if they were at $35k new I'd buy a new one!

  • Exactly, I got my 2006 for 17k cash and it runs like a dream and still looks new

  • i hate how german cars are automatically the benchmark to compare everything ese to, i dont know if anyone knows but german cars were shit until not that that long ago

  • I agree. It's like saying, Germany is superior to everything! In that case..., Germany should be the strongest country in the world(Not)! Smh.. Not to sound biased but, I'd pick an American luxury vehicle over a German luxury vehicle, anyday! They're not really all of that different!

  • I have one and it is the best cadillac i have ever owned by far!

  • I like this car but waaaay over priced.

  • it's a luxury car, wat did u expect -.-?

  • I love Cadillac!

Best of all..... it´s a cadillac!!!

  • Let's not forget about Lincoln. ;-)

  • Awesome car! I love the design, but the engines are still far too big. Eventualy Cadillac will sink if they don't adapt their cars to low consume Diesel engines or other alternatives. . Audi, for example, uses for the same class of car 1.9 or 2.5 turbo diesel engines that still run fast enough, but consuming around 6 litres on 100 kms in combined regime. I would sincerely buy an STS rather than a A6 or A4 or 5 Series BMW, but with a smaller diesel engine. I want a car for making miles not show

  • I really do like this car, but think about it. If you're going to go for the V-6, then the CTS is similarly roomy, drives better, definately as all the tech, and is a little cheaper and performs better.

So then you should go for the V-8, but the performance isn't that much better. So somehow if you're shopping new it's a great car but it kind of doesn't make sense.

How about small-block V-8 to compete with the standard V-8 Germans and Japanese in the CTS?

  • i'm looking forward for the upcoming halo model of cadillac that is scheduled for 2010, rumors that cadillac is planning to bring competition to the bmw 7 series and mercedes s-class and the likes with a model based off the cadillac sixteen with v8-v12 engines available, can't wait to see what cadillac will do in the future, they should call the upclass model "C.E.O" since they've given all of their models 3 letters mostly.

  • Wow the STS interior is WAY behind the competition. Just not on par with an Audi/BMW/Mercedes/Jaguar at all. The materials (minus the wood) are all second rate and boring. And the price is laughable when you can get a Lexus LS for the same price as the V8.

  • the sts-v would have much more power than a lexus LS. the LS is not a sport sedan so different people would buy each one. i would prefer the LS but i bet most people would rather be "sporty" and get the STS-V.

  • I'm talking about a normal V8. They can get to roughly the same price as a base LS. But why would someone get an STS-V when the CTS-V is that much better? Mercedes, BMW, Audi all have what most would consider better alternatives.

  • well, i just checked their websites and the STS starts at $47k, the LS starts at $64k. Thats a big difference. I see a lot more STS's than LS's because of that.

  • Ok well if you load up an STS, it'll be pushing $70k. Granted its more of a sports sedan so maybe a Jaguar XF or BMW 550i would be a better comparo. And while anyone complaining about 320 V8 is probably a bit greedy, its way underpowered to the others. Cadillac just needs to rethink the STS in my opinion.

  • i think cadillac has been moving up lately, they want to sell more expensive/better models. 2012 is supposed to bring a $70k-ish DTS. maybe right now they are pushing the price up and so hopefully the power/quality will follow.

  • @yourbestfriend6492 - Yeah, I like the STS but the interior isn't great. The only GM interiors that are above-par for their price class right now are Malibu, LaCrosse, and Camaro. But at least that's three more than Chrysler has.

  • yo i was pushin this shit yesturday i was doin a buck on my road

  • This car is grossly underrated.

  • You must of not viewed the new one such as the CTS-V huh?

  • What is the diffrence beetween the sts than the cts

  • sts biggest than cts.

  • cts is more sporty than the sts

  • I prefer the CTS.

  • This car needs more respect

  • @She11y Too bad it's discontinued... 'gonna fuse with the DTS...

  • A very fair and honest report on a fine and unjustly underrated car.

  • I would very much like one.

  • @dagr382 so true, my parents got one about two years ago, my god! I love to drive that car, im currently looking for a second hand one myself! (except i want the STS-V lol)

  • Its amazing how many BS posts wind up on the internet. However, German cars have a deserved reputation over many decades. I respect that. Having said that i don't like the current bulbous, melted down look of the current BMW's. They are good cars but I prefer the ones previous to about 2001-2002.

Cadillac on the other hand makes some very nice cars now. The STS and CTS both are very fine automobiles. They deserve more credit than the dumb BS posts on here.

  • I agree with you. As for value, the STS and CTS are as good as anything else out there as far as options, performance and especially comfort goes. It's all about what you prefer.

My preference goes to Cadillac because I fit much more comfortably in Cadillacs than I do Mercedes, and that's always been the case as far back as I can remember.

  • Standard features include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio and climate controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, 8-way power front seats, keyless start, premium sound system, and compass.

    Very luxurious, reasonably priced

    Very powerful and sporty

Very good car.. good value for the money

  • german sucks? dude u dunno shit bout cars then. germans cars r da best sporty cars and more luxury like the BMW .. da CTS or da STS r just sporty but nothin more dan dat..

  • ahhhh what?

  • Exactly lol "come again!"

  • German cars aren't really any more or less luxury, sporty, or considering how awesome the CTS-V is, fast. That's just not true.

  • I love some american cars like this one. So posh. About 300 or more h/p. Germans suck.

  • Is this supossed to compete with BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Audi? I seriously don't see how it could. Well perhaps for its suBstancially cheaper price.

  • How? It handles great and has a great interior.

  • You don't see how it could? Come back when you've driven this car and its competition you fucking cockroach. Don't speak on matters you know nothing about.

  • It was my buddy's car...even if the car is under warranty doesn't mean its not a pain in the ass to always have you expensive car in the shop...I sell cars for a living and have sold gm's and I am selling honda and acuras now...I know quality and I know gm will soon be out of buisness because no one wants there fucking peice of shit unreliable poorly made cheap cars

  • guess my unreliable mechanic is a gm dealer then eh?

  • you just said it was your friend's car in the shop, now you're claiming it's YOUR mechanic. Way to

  • Awesome car

It competes with the Lexus GS350, BMW 528i, and Audi A6.

  • cadillac is back, and there interior still needs improvement but the overall design is top notch

  • I am a patient guy, but this is one of the few videos that I just can not bear to watch to the end. so I'll just leave this comment and go...

  • The STS is one of the better GM sedans. I think it is very nice overall. It just isn't quite up to the level of the competing sedans from Europe and Japan.

  • thats why kelley blue book gave it a good rating right? my dad has an 07 sts and it is not cheaply made.
