And perhaps that and the common ground of wanting our children to live is enough reason for an increase in open Diplomacy as opposed to name-calling and propaganda. One can only hope.

Neither Israel nor US will attack Iran because Israel is afraid of it's elimination by multi-national forces in retaliation, and US is afraid of Russian/Chinese/Iranian/Venezuelan+++ response which equals WWIII.
I think Bush and Cheney, and their friends in oil/defense companies have made enough profit in the last 8 years to let the presidency go to Obama, plus republicans are not exactly McCain/Palin supporters.
And, American people are sick of wars and high energy cost.
