Ikes quick draw is great for recovery if you are knocked far away lol. Aether is good when you are knocked a certain distance and you want to bring other players down with you lol.

Lol Ikes down tilt move is just like Links and Young Links in Melee as well. Some characters are spin offs from others. In the older games. Mewtwo/Lucario is a good example lol.

Backwards Throw + Downwards Neutral Air(Spike) = usually instant kill. Depends on how floaty the other players character is. Puts them in perfect position as most people will jump when they get thrown off the edge :D.

Ike is actually good at comboing. Bthrow to Dash Attack is a true combo at mid percents on most characters. Then jab 1 and 2 can combo into jab 1, Utilt or grab. Ike's jab cancelling can even lead to 30%+ damage. Ike is mostly a spacing (makes his moves much harder to punish especially his aerials), punishing and a character designed for hard reads. Also I find Dair to be an above average spike because its vertical disjointed hitbox is so big that it beats almost every Up b when timed right.

Just so u know It is not all about the character but also who is using it. I am better with Gannon than meta knight. So really the tiers lists and ratings are pointless.

@ExelDling17 Tier lists do have a point, it's a way to define which characters are better than others in a general sense. If someone of your caliber was equally as good with Meta Knight as you are with Ganondorf, chances are, he'll win because Meta is MUCH better than Ganon. The tier list is also defined by how well the characters do in tournaments. In Japan Pit is A-tier and here Pit is E-tier. It it's all to interpretation it obviously doesn't account for preference or level of practice.

IIRC, grab pummeling only counts as one move in terms of stale moves if you mash buttons, you need to delay between hits to get maximum refreshingness.

Last note about Ike. his speed is not too much of a issue if you know how to use the counters and sidesteps. that is all and i hope that helps :)

@1570shadow that just means he isn't the best player for everyone. his slowness for me posed very little or no issue at all. A proper Ike expert will not be affected by this. It is all about the way you fight and not anyone can you Ike were his speed is not an issue.

@1570shadow i dont camp with anyone. his smash is easy to get and use nicly. to escape harm use his direction b attacks. hes good for dealing damage to multiple darets in close combat. in a tight spot and u should use a side step easy. only certain people i can tell can use him effectivly without his speed getting in he way. its all about quick thinking and right timing when using ike. if you can do that he is REALLY good for SOME people who can do that in the right way

@calmingdown02 its so easy to read a sidestep if used often its not even funny, his smashes are just to slow to land and his b attacks are just horrid, the only good use he has is the jab cancle but otherqise its hard to take down damage, and last time i checked, san the best ike is good but just cant get far in an international tournament like apex.

@1570shadow ok i dont know who those guys your on about but what i can tell is this. overall as a character his has less pro over cons compared to others. i guess any character can be made extremely well if the practise in put in. in other words i guess overall when not including skill he may not be as easy to use. so in a way i guess your are right. just got to say with the right skill Ike has some serious potential as long as you have the right type of skill.

flying charge attack when your falling. also its sometimes good do use your normal special attack to hit someone falling above you if you time it right and prevent someone from getting back into the fight after being knowcked off. i didnt use his graps much but im not much of a grab person. as for combos just do the classic normal attack and put in a load of chare and special attacks. He in my oppinion is a VERY strong and good player to use. Tho he is not very fast his def & atk counter nicely.

Just some extra pointers to those who are reading. Ike was my first and initially best character on brawl and i could really wup ass with him. i suggest DO use the counter when expecting attacks at suuden timing. also his side special is very useful in staying alive. ive had many times ive been completely knocked of the battle field but waiting as i fell and getting my timing right could get you flying back into the fight. hes not easy to kill and his slide special can balance out the pickachu..
