  • This video is targeted for young white females; the only ones doing this with the scale. Too obsessed with finding a husband or bf or being sexually attractive to men.

  • ....I'm gonna shoot my scale with my 12 gauge shotgun.... That would be fun.

  • Hey! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my buddy lost lots of weight with it.

  • OMG!!! Are you in my bathroom!!! This is exactly what happens...currently looking for the highest building!!!

  • You must really be against Wrestling. You have to maintain a weight for months. We weigh ourselves before and after every practice.

  • My PT uses a tape measure. Pleased with the results so far. Scales have not shifted a lot but I was warned they wouldn't and that I shouldn't be losing more than a pound a week.

  • I agree with you about halfway. Firstly, I like that you said 'every day', because most don't utilize a diet that requires daily scale measuring due to the 4 lb. swing you mentioned.

Scales DO however have a place in fitness and health, particularly with relatively extreme diets such as the HCG diet (note, extreme does NOT mean 'bad', just highly irregular in comparison to other diets).

That being said, I think whether for weight loss or weight gain, scale measuring should be on a weekly basis

  • Great video!!

  • @EB5005 yes. If you were overweight, and started to work out, you would gain weight in muscle form -- which is tighter and more compact than fat but weights more.

  • is there anyway possible that ive gained weight be got smaller?

  • @EB5005 Sure. Muscle weighs twice as much as fat, so by losing some fat but gaining more muscle, you LOOK smaller, but you might be fairly hefty. Hope that helps =)

  • It's not so much my clients getting on the scales every day it's them (as you also pointed out) using the scales ALONE as the judge. Like yourself, I've written a dozen blog posts reminding people of this error.

  • I weight myself everyday and i am shocked how I can go up 4 pounds in a day or two? I thought I was abnormal. Thanks for this video

  • 3:24 please people he was just kidding lol

  • I posted this video on MyFitnessPals and everyone seems to love you! :D Great advice!!! ('Hi' to all MFPers!!)

  • LOL, I Love this "your still fat " , I get it ! LMAO Thank's for sending this.

  • **************

So what does everyone think about the new bill being passed that will make it

illegal to grow organic food, and any food that is not from Mosanto?????????????

Wake up People! This is the most dangerous bill in history that is about to be passed!!!!

  • To: @JCele3 you need a scale to calculate BMI.

    Plum369 2 days ago.

Yes, you do need a scale ONLY TO GET YOUR WEIGHT to get the BMI measurements. UW (when and if you really listened to him) is talking about people OBSESSING and STRESSING with "weighing in." Programs like Weight Watches weighs in every week--which is not a good indicator as UW indicated.

BMI calculators "built in" these computer/sophisticated scales don't count.

Again a BMI weigh in IS NOT ain't what he's saying here

  • I love this! I'm discovering this truth on my own but he really drives it home in this video!

  • CORRECT,why people worry so much about a number on the scales I will never truly get.

Today I came across a scale in a chemist and weighed myself after months of not doing so(don't own one) and I am 8lb heavier yet my clothes fit exactly the same if not a bit looser.

Oh man..I grow muscle just watching bodybuilding videos...lol

  • tru i hate da scale always says something different

  • hehe i just realized Shawn kinda looks like that cop from the Village People :P

  • Thanks !

  • Excellent video.

  • On a plus note though, the scale can be a good motivator if you're eating well and seeing results!

  • You have inspired me to loose weight and i've lost 35 pounds in 3 months just changing to a diet of fresh produce and meat and making everything from scratch. i don't feel hungry and i've gained muscle so i look smaller! i work out for 45 min every day and feel great! thanks for all your videos, they are really awesome and i always look forward to them :)

  • do more of these reloaded. Whenever I suggest you to others, I say "Go back to his first video and work your way up," because thats where all the knowledge is.

  • Good video! I'm looking forward to the new website.

  • sean is a fucking asshole sell out bitch!!!! fuck him!!!

  • @stitely Why do you say that?

  • Sean i feel so much better but this morning my scale...;)

  • You're right-the scale should never be an indicator. I purchased one a month ago and returned it after re-thinking. We should be concerned with how our clothes fit. Plus many lose INCHES FIRST b 4 the weight. BMI is much more important than the scale. :-) Thx for the vid

  • @JCele3 you need a scale to calculate BMI.

  • i just bought a scale =/ ohhh no!!!

  • Why did you delete your old videos? Feels like i've seen this exact episode.

  • I think it is a good idea to weigh yourself from time to time.

And for many people it is the only way to wake up to the weight they've gained. Differences in fit of clothing is often not enough to alert a person to their weight gain/problem, as vanity seizing exists for women's clothing and men's as well. It can be shocking and upsetting but it can be the catalyst to get you to face yourself.

  • "sizing"

  • great video

  • Well, i lost once 30.8 lbs in a month and then scale was my best friend! And i even could run and lift weights! It was hell though. Lol

  • Youre so right about the different reasons for that 4lb weight gain and not weighing yourself every day. However i dont agree with getting rod of the scale learning to manage and limit its use as part of your routine is key to success ive found. I use mine once a. week for management and also now weigh out my food :p

  • Worst invention scale? Nah worst invention ever Hydrogenated vegetable oils

  • I hate the 'effin scale I use mine like 2 times a month maybe. I go by how my clothes fit, how I see my body's differences/changes, and how I feel. Fuk the scale it's so lame and and the fat%, muscle%, and the water% never seem accurate.

My boyfriend uses it a lot more and then says the scale says he's obese... Ima crack it over his head he's a muscle head.

  • Thank you!!! Maybe my girl friend will listen to to you. Scale means nothing. She also thinks her BMI is an accurate measurer too. Effing hopeless.

  • I'm not like most women when it comes to the scale obsession. I only care about my health and how I look (vain I know lol). If I feel great and look great, why would I care about the number that pops up on the scale? I wouldn't. And anyway, everybody carries weight differently for different reasons. People shouldn't be grouped into healthy vs unhealthy based on weight brackets. It's more to it. Damned western societies!

  • since this is the end of the world, I just wanna say, it was nice knowing you bro / sis.

  • THANK YOU, SEAN!! This is so true!!!

  • i know what you're saying.

  • That so true. Because I'm losing weight now and I can really feel the inches coming off and the pounds really won't change.

  • Dude what is that beat!? Man it's good... ;)

  • You are so correct. I get on my scale nearly every morning. Thanks for the reminder.

DAH! I will pick that particular day like you said. I didn't email you though. HA! : )

  • i agree with you Sean, but it doens't stop me from using mine haha. Im 177, 12%bf, 58.7% water in the morning but then 180, 10.5%bf, 60% water at night... crazy stuff

  • I use a tape measure.

  • i used to be tht way abt the scale....mirror and scale goes hand in hand...

  • so angry lol

  • *Thumbs up*

  • instead of making all these videos you should just make a video that says

    EAT LESS CARBS, LIFT WEIGHTS

  • i think this is an old video. ive seen it before. anyways...its still good

  • I didn't read all the comments, so if someone else said it too, sorry for repeating...BUT PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIS ADVICE ABOUT DROPPING A SCALE FROM THE TOP OF A BUILDING! YOU COULD INJURE OR KILL SOMEONE. OF COURSE, THIS SHOULD BE COMMON SENSE, BUT SOME PEOPLE DON'T HAVE IT LOL.

  • @wjb722 It's Not Common Sense If Not Everybody has It ;)

  • Church! I need to stop weighing myself.

  • BIG GRIN!! Damn, you are good, Teacher - excellent rant!!

  • i really don't understand why this guy doesnt get more views

  • You were definitely talking to me, #1 scale whore, lol. Thanks for this video!

  • Your an inspiration.

    GOD BLESS

  • amen!

  • Wow I am the person that weigh's in like everyday just to see if I changed. Wow...I actually just threw away my scale. Thanks

  • *may :)

  • Sean! Yes! Nothing like fitting into the mofo skinny jeans! Scale? I don't own one of those, never have :) I amy jump on a scale periodically at the supermarket but as you said, my clothes don't lie :) Thanks for this video. Hugs from sunny Miami :)

  • This was great!!!! I finally got off my scale about 6 months ago. My life is better for it. If my pants get tight, I know I'm up a few and can make adjustments to food or exercise. I have more than enough stress without worrying about every pound - just like you said!

  • Perfectly said!

  • i think ive seen this video before.

  • I love videos like these, and you need to start making them more often :)

  • lol, my scale tells me all of those things..., but I weight weekly same time of the day each time.

  • but I love seeing my progress on the scale and when I need to get back on track... nooooooooo, lol

  • I finally 'got it' a few days a go. I was weighing everyday driving my self bonkers. I have decided that, since I know I am eating what I should and working out like I should, I will get the results I want. I especially urge black women to throw the scale out. We will ALMOST always weigh more than a non-black female of the same measurements and height.

Can you do a video talking about your opinions on HCG? Thank you!

  • I love weighing my self, but on a serious note when are videos like these coming back

  • I don't even have a scale. Oh well.

  • Great video, though you won't start loosing muscle mass if you eat 10-15% less calories (unless you drop the proteine intake)

  • I only weigh myself once a week on Sunday morning and then I track it, but I also track hydration %, body fat %, and bone mass (per the scale readings) and then I take measurements like bi-monthly too. Love the video Sean! Truth!!

  • @imacer99 through?

  • Dozens of people got killed in NY.

    Cause of death...

    scales coming from the sky

  • Thank you very much for that! I love your channel:-)!

  • oh man, this is one of my big problems right now... I should sell my scale, its just too easy to have a bad habit of weighing. Saying that I pay a lot more attention to mirrors/clothe sizing/measurements these days.. but still

  • i miss these old school videos. they were awesome, almost as awesome as that hat.

  • why were all the videos deleted anyway?

  • @ShaxAMV he went crazy, now hes back :)

    lol
