Bad: need more voices due unison, phasing in unison, onboard knobs for presets isnt accurate, LFO doesnt work properly, bad adapter turns off sometimes, wont work if you have a logitech cam installed xD, can't sync tempo to my software :(
Good: Wavetables, multimode filters x2!, modulation abilities, its small size, brilliance on oscs, USB midi, HIGH quality, good presets, brilliant support from Waldorf! Multitimbral, easy to udpate OS ;)
@djjessebase10 Well I'll be a... removing the Logitech Webcam drivers from WinXP worked! I can now see the Waldorf Blofeld in SEQ24 and I can send MIDI commands to it. Until now I was connecting it to my Yamaha YPT320 or Korg R3 via a MIDI cable. Thanks!!!
He is very good. I wish I spoke Japanese because his reviews are great. Even though I cannot understand him it is very informative if you pay attention. Most people who understand synths know what he is talking about. He is a true Sensei.
Thanks musictrack jp! what a great review....I find Synthesis to be a universal language..Its clear our friend is showing the smooth filters and cool mod options,as well as the vast range of sounds this lil blofeld can belt..That seals it for me...looks like I'll be grabing a new blofeld over an $600-$700 used virus b.
@Norch2099 Definitely. A lot of people sometimes complain about a demo being in a different language. Those people forget that first of all, this is an international site, and second of all, he shows that this thing sounds great regardless of what he might be saying
Congratulations!! You are now officially infekted!! :-) I also like the blofeld and i think it will be a definite purchase in the future for me. Enjoy!! :-)
I have my blofeld about 1 week but im a little disapointed. A great machine, great sound and capacibiltys , no doubt, but no multi-sounds from factory or multi arp combinations ready to play with rihytmic paterns for example, in waldorf site either they doesnt have to much suport for this gear, a few new sound sets or even an editor will be welcome, lets wait and see about that and the SL licence maybe takes the machine for another rank.
hey man i think i know you from somewhere... i think your one of my friends on youtube, but ive been wanting the TI i do hardstyle and uk herdcore, the blofeld is looking like a better option. It depends on the sound you want. Everybody has a TI, so if you want to stand out, get something different :)
AHAHAHAHAHAHA silly little truffle....The Alesis Micron is a mere child's toy. You probably use a MicroKorg to don't you? HAHAHA....yeah. Blofeld blows the CRAP out of any Alesis synth.
They're completely different animals, directed at different customers, voiced for different types of musics, they doesn't even produce sounds in the same way, all in all they're not comparable. Not everyone wants "fatter" and "analogish".
Unless you want to make a patriotic statement. Then of course the instruments made in your home country is the best ones.
I just bought a Virus Snow about 1 week ago and have only slept about 5 hours all together!! I love this little machine!! Its a little pricey but you get the Virus Control and you can add or delete sounds in your DAW or in Virus Control. I believe this is why it is priceier than the blofeld and it sounds are huge!!!!!
yea my mate just got a virus ti, cant wait to check it out... am getting the blofeld, it sounds absolutely amazing, will set it up next to me mates ti and do some comparisons
Amazing synthesizer. Manages everything from cold digital to warm analog and does a lot more; wavetables, sample and hold etc etc. Excellent arpeggiator. Monstrous!!!
nice video and very powerful synth. basses, pads, e-pianos, oldschool leads... you name it, it does it! 3 osc per voice, no? sounds like a good buy to me
I just got mine today. a few things to mention other than the known volume sound differencesthat can be fixed. i noticed the inside display screen is a little crooked. it's not that bad but i can notice it. go figure i get one crooked! i was wondering if any other blofeld owners noticed this on theirs? also my volume knob was a bit loose not tight like the others. maybe all this is common sice i was told they are hand made. thanks for any info

most of the recent german synths ive saw are better than the modern day japanese ones if you ask me. japan makes good digital ones, but in terms of actual synthesizers; based off of true synthesis, europe's are far superior. -shujincell

Very useful video. You make me understand some edit facilities, not mentioned in the manual - even I dont speak Japanese. I think I'll be a better BLOFELD player. Thanks.
Finnaly a real Review! I dont understand anything this guys says, but this gives a much better impression of how the modul works, and how one works with it! Thanx alot!

Sounds more like a Korg product than something Wolfgang put together. I'd stick with the XT (or a PPG if you can find one LOL).

Thanks for these videos, it sure helped me decide and purchase my blofeld.
Please check it out and see what can be done with it on this demo (or others):

Actually the first thing I wondered is how a Japanese person is going to understand the display if it's all in English

both of these german synths are not near as good as the great american alesis ION, MICRON. trust me they sound a lot more fatter and analogish.
virus/waldorf sounds like effing software!
german products are highly overrated and expensive!

waldorf blofeld "potatoe-synthesizer"
at 2:37 min.: "Kartoffel". It´s the german word for potatoe. funny.
But after all, it´s a nice review with awesome sounds out of that great "made in germany" synthesizer.
