I believe they cut out some of the scenes. I thought there was a scene where Barney and Gomer was arguing about fixing the car, and who would go into the house. Also on the forty Acres backlot set , the Remshaw house is two houses down from Andy's on the left.

How could Don Knotts not have been the perfect actor for the movie "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"? This episode really foreshadowed Don's future.

lol i gotta say, i dont care how advanced modern TV gets, nothin will ever beat this show or the people who starred in it...this show always takes me back to when i was younger, and all the hours i spent sittiin in the living room with my grandpa laughin at ol' barney fife and the rest of the crew.. what i would give to re-live just one minute of that :)

The "fat guy" was Nestor Paiva, best known as the captain on the boat in The Creature From the Black Lagoon. The state ABC agent was James Seay, best known as the doctor treating Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) in The Miracle on 34th Street. (1947)
