Usually I don't like your videos but, I think this one is actually pretty good, When I told my friends I'm an athiest i actually lost a few and they just stopped talking to me. Most of them didn't care and I dont see why all christians can't be like that....It really doesn't matter now i know some athiests are cynical, pretentious assholes But most of us are perfectly fine with it I dont care my friends are christian it doesn't really matter.

You and other good Christians make up most of my friends, even though I myself am a Atheist. It fills me with joy to not have to care about others beliefs. The only reason I care in the first place is if it affects me, and to see people happy in believing something without bothering others, even if I don't think it right, is amazing. I choose my friends based on their behavior and in my experience most people are willing to treat other people with respect regardless of their beliefs. I have two mormon friends, five christian friends, two hindu friends, and 1 muslim friend. The rest are atheists. As an atheist, it's easy to make friends.

Many people who, for one reason or another, leave their religion are ostricized by their own family and friends who still believe...not because they chose to ostricize themselves but because believers decide they are suddenly "evil" or someone they should not associate with.
Many people find themselves trapped within a faith they cannot believe in due to deep fear of this situation.

I have a very christian friend, and I find his beliefs insane and disturbing to say the least. However, I have known him for over ten years now and he has been a reliable and constant friend throughout my life. So I accept him the way he is. If I could change his mind, I would do so in a second but I know I can`t. We agree to disagree and stay clear of the subject as much as possible. It`s the only way I`m affraid.
Also: An Atheist will try to convince a Christian to become Atheist for the same reason that a Christian would try to sway them. Love. Most atheists base their views on science and evidence and for those things they do not have evidence for, they cannot disprove, but because of science and the evidence they view the existence of any god or gods as unnecessary, and thus also improbable. @Fishqueen1972 You're aware that the Bible is full of contradictions. Although the Bible requests you to stone non-belivers, it also tells you not to kill and to love your enemy. Christians apply their own morals to the bible, picking the parts that fit, ignoring the parts that don't. Thus, unless they're are acting accordingly, some specific sentences in the Bible say very little about christianity. It's the definitions job to describe christianity, not christianity's job to fit the definition.

Im an Atheist and i have many many Christian friends, i attend a youthy group and a monhtly meeting at a church. They get on with me and i get on with them.
None of the above changes my views or changes theirs. However secretley i do have a burning desire to deabte and kill religion. Not going into why..

I respect much of what you're saying here and I wish more religious people understood the point you're making.
Many people who, for one reason or another, leave their religion are ostricized by their own family and friends who still believe...not because they chose to ostricize themselves but because believers decide they are suddenly "evil" or someone they should not associate with.
Many people find themselves trapped within a faith they cannot believe in due to deep fear of this situation.

However, I have known him for over ten years now and he has been a reliable and constant friend throughout my life. So I accept him the way he is. And outspoken Christians, Jews or Muslims are alright? Everyone speaks for their own opinion. Most atheists base their views on science and evidence and for those things they do not have evidence for, they cannot disprove, but because of science and the evidence they view the existence of any god or gods as unnecessary, and thus also improbable. That you deem it probable and should be allowed to be outspoken about this whereas they should not, is discriminating.

@PennyDreadful1 You do realize the Bible says bad things about atheists don't you. Fact, it instructs to do violent things to atheists. Christianity is automatically anti-atheistic by definition.

@Fishqueen1972 You're aware that the Bible is full of contradictions. Although the Bible requests you to stone non-belivers, it also tells you not to kill and to love your enemy. Christians apply their own morals to the bible, picking the parts that fit, ignoring the parts that don't. Thus, unless they're are acting accordingly, some specific sentences in the Bible say very little about christianity. It's the definitions job to describe christianity, not christianity's job to fit the definition.

@PennyDreadful1 You must understand that atheism is a minority in america. As a minority you sometimes have to raise your voice (so to speak) in order to be heard. Although I agree with you, I think their behaviour is often understandable.

Why are there so many dislikes on this? This is a person saying 'be nice to people'. What's wrong with that? I should hope that the downthumbers aren't from my (for the sake of brevity; atheistic) camp. Even if some of the things he says are objectionable, he's trying to be a good person.

@ArchhereticK Regardless of whatever else he's uploaded here, this is largely a nice video, he says a few things that are somewhat objectionable, but as far as he's concerned, he's trying to be good. That people were being un-nuanced in their criticism was what I was complaining about.

I was pointing out the flaw in this medium: Thoughtlessness and over-bearing pre-conceptions. These two flaws over-ride quality, in almost every case.

I don't choose my friends based on their religious beliefs, or lackthereof.
It just so happens that the vast majority of religious people I meet are either insane or just plain dull. I only have a handful of friends who are not atheists and this is only because they are rediculously intelligent people who challenge me at every turn. None of them are christian or muslim though.
