@smok30n3 they are 1.5 DVC You wire them in the box but use monoblock amp. They can be wired differently depending on wether you go low impedence or not. Check out crutchfields wiring diagrams. All you need to know and it's easy

@ThanosByNight i have a 13w7 and you can use it for a comp but it would get murdered by a lesser quality brand with higher power handling anyday. thats why you hardly ever see them in a comp. they were designed for sound quality with high output capabilities. they sound so good to the human ear that we are tricked into thinking they are louder than what they really are. however, the meter doesnt care and a cloudy Fi or solox will murder a JL in competition anyday because they take more power.

You do know the only reason they "appear" to be moving like that is because of the frame rate of the camera, right? It's not even possible for the JL W7 to move this drastically because after you've calculated the depth of the cone from the dust cap to the voice coil, and you measure the allowable deviation of the voice coil at it's greatest angle, you'll get cone wobble LESS THAN 1mm from edge to edge. The only way this could actually happen is if the cone ripped off the voice coil

Well its a 4th order bandpass enclosure, and is completely sealed off from the trunk. So all the pressure is directed into the cab of the car. I could honestly jam with the trunk open like in this video and all the pressure remains in the cab.

You sir are mistaken....I had these subs for over 2 years and beat on them everyday, no issues, or problems. Then after i was done with them they were still in great condition, so good that i sold them for a nice price. The reason the video looks this way is because the cameras frame rate is low and can't keep up.

W7's are pretty decent subs, but for the price of the 13W7's, you can do MUCH better. For $1300 ($650 for each 13W7 last I checked), you can get three Exodus Audio Maelstrom-X's. Three 18" subs will sound much cleaner, and can go louder at the same time.
