Wow! I looked like the studio of the ukulele first. It is a pipe organ replaced very much. What I can play is splendid. I served as a reference very much.
@WolfSkate Oh yes, what other kind of sound could Dr. Suess's musicians possibly play?
In learning or teaching brass or woodwind instruments, the instructor is liable to advise the student to make sounds that are less flatulent. Leonard has taken the opposite approach, to great success.
@hotpixielott um im dutch and we dont have Santa but another guy with a white horse and chimney sweeper help mates. Anyway we sing a song the nicht before we get a treat and wan is on these tunes.
You all might laugh now, but just you wait - in a few years you will hear that tune being played over the synchronized marching of that genius madman's steam-powered robot army.
OK, as an organ builder I can only imagine that you got some inspiration/help from a local organ builder. It's a wonderful adaptation of many structures familiar to me, envisioned in store-bought form. One million bravos. Let's see some more.
@ukeliDokeli hmm as a child I remember this tune on an old record. It was a song that kept repeating "Have you ever seen a lassie, a lassie, a lassie. Have you ever seen a lassie go this way and that. Go this way and that way go this way and that way have you ever seen a lassie go this way and that." Then repeats but with laddy instead of lassie. I always knew it had to be something different but nice to know the story behind it.
I named the machine the Oomphalo Pompatronium; omphalos, or ομφαλος, being Greek for navel. Whatever you make of that, I never meant to imply a comparison to those creepy, annoying orange critters, but maybe my karma outwitted me. Oh, geklopt mine kopf!
This song is called, Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt (Someone's knocking at the door), in Dutch. It's a song about Zwarte Piet (Black Pete), Sinterklaas's (Santa Claus's) assisant/slave who knocks on our doors and then opens it (like a burglar) and throws candy inside. We have both Sinterklaas and Santa in Holland. It's confusing sometimes because they are the same person mytholologically speaking. Black Pete is kind of like an Oompaloompa. A servant to a madman who likes little kids (hmmmmmm?).
I'm most familiar with the Raffi tune, but according to Wikipedia the original version is called Oh du lieber Augustin. Apparently it tells the true story of a bagpiper who got stuck in a black plague mass grave and played his pipes until he was rescued. This, in my mind, is even better than a song about getting together.
@thingsBIGthe I remember it as a child called Ach Du Lieber Augustine. I don't recall all of the lyrics in English but I do remember: "Pockets are empty, the wife she has left me, Ach Du Lieber Augustine, everything's gone.
@Nomzisgood It's not in Holland. But probably is in German. I have no clue who came up with the melody first. We'll fight it out on the soccerfield ;)

IN DUtCH Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt.
In The Simpsons episode "The Otto Show", the children sing a song called "Hail To The Bus Driver"
The song has been adapted as a Scouting campfire song with the title "Fish and chips and vinegar". Fish and chips and vinegar.
The melody appears, somewhat deconstructed, in the song "Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat and Tears.
The children's song "The More We Get Together," is also sung to the same tune.
