  • Goblin engineering at its finest.

  • What you get when you mix equal parts of Willy Wonka, physics professor, music instructor, and circus show... Brilliant!

  • You *must* do a little happy dance while you're listening to this.

  • this looks like a steam punk meth lab

  • wow that was amazing how long did it take to build that

  • @kinggamer19 I have no idea; over the span of a few years, I've built a little at a time. Glad you like it.

  • best instrument I've ever heard

  • FREEBIRD!!!

  • Forget drums and bass. I want one of these.

  • I am immediately reminded of the instruments in Whoville.

  • Can I march one of those in band?

  • The more we get together the happier we'll be.

And your friend is my friend, and my friend is your friend,

but the more we get together the happier we'll be.

  • I feel like I should be playing Banjo Kazooie

  • I could watch that for hours, but listen to it for about 5 seconds before a lump hammer enters the equation.

  • song name: "daar wordt aan de deur geklopt" - sinterklaas

  • Doctor Suess would be proud.

  • @WolfSkate Oh yes, what other kind of sound could Dr. Suess's musicians possibly play?

In learning or teaching brass or woodwind instruments, the instructor is liable to advise the student to make sounds that are less flatulent. Leonard has taken the opposite approach, to great success.

  • nice, nice :)

  • Jordan Rudess needs to play this. Amirite?

  • this is some great dubstep

  • This is VERY UNUSUAL! However, I LIKE the sounds from it. You also have a taste for DECENT music! May God bless you and your contraption!

From John Nozum, a fellow musician

  • Please make music with this and a bagpipe.

  • This is awesome...

  • this is freakin AWESOME

  • We need a remix version of this.

  • IN DUtCH Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt.

In The Simpsons episode "The Otto Show", the children sing a song called "Hail To The Bus Driver"

The song has been adapted as a Scouting campfire song with the title "Fish and chips and vinegar". Fish and chips and vinegar.

The melody appears, somewhat deconstructed, in the song "Spinning Wheel" by Blood, Sweat and Tears.

The children's song "The More We Get Together," is also sung to the same tune.

  • Who else read OompaLoompatorium??

  • You all might laugh now, but just you wait - in a few years you will hear that tune being played over the synchronized marching of that genius madman's steam-powered robot army.

    And it will be awesome.

  • I thought that it was going to be pronounced like "Oompa Loompa Pompatronium"... I mustn't have read it properly.

  • @ChristiaanVanVuuren I had the same problem and I had to listen to him pronounce it a couple of time before I understood it.

But I still can't say it!

  • It's like a machine that produces pure happiness and awesome.

  • hahahahahahaha HA HA HA HA, excuse me but O M G

  • :D (No comments, I'm smiling!)

  • OK, as an organ builder I can only imagine that you got some inspiration/help from a local organ builder. It's a wonderful adaptation of many structures familiar to me, envisioned in store-bought form. One million bravos. Let's see some more.

  • @virginiaorganbuilder

    Nope, he's self-taught.

  • @thingsBIGthe Yowza! The guy's AMAZING! He SHOULD be an organ builder...

  • @virginiaorganbuilder

Well, he is. Just not the big fancy kinds. You should check out his homepage and listen to the Callioforte which is a portable pipe organ.

  • better than this auto tune crap :)

  • Hey it's a singamajig! :D

  • @ukeliDokeli hmm as a child I remember this tune on an old record. It was a song that kept repeating "Have you ever seen a lassie, a lassie, a lassie. Have you ever seen a lassie go this way and that. Go this way and that way go this way and that way have you ever seen a lassie go this way and that." Then repeats but with laddy instead of lassie. I always knew it had to be something different but nice to know the story behind it.

  • It must difficult to take that on tour.

  • And his next creation: The shlootenhootenflimer.

  • That is a Pipe Organ

  • This man is very sexy. I like it.

  • NOW, THAAAT'S what I call TALENT.

  • ...awesome.

  • Made my afternoon. Awesome.

  • Reminds me of Ferris Bullers day off when he is playing the keyboard with the sound effects

  • Awesome!

  • I ain't mad. I'd tell you if I was.

  • This man is clearly a mad scientist.

  • reminds me of banjo kazooie.

  • @ScarfaceGirl134 lol thats exactly what i thought xD

  • this is monumental !

  • friggin amazing!

  • I named the machine the Oomphalo Pompatronium; omphalos, or ομφαλος, being Greek for navel. Whatever you make of that, I never meant to imply a comparison to those creepy, annoying orange critters, but maybe my karma outwitted me. Oh, geklopt mine kopf!

  • jajajaja genial!!!

  • This song is called, Daar wordt aan de deur geklopt (Someone's knocking at the door), in Dutch. It's a song about Zwarte Piet (Black Pete), Sinterklaas's (Santa Claus's) assisant/slave who knocks on our doors and then opens it (like a burglar) and throws candy inside. We have both Sinterklaas and Santa in Holland. It's confusing sometimes because they are the same person mytholologically speaking. Black Pete is kind of like an Oompaloompa. A servant to a madman who likes little kids (hmmmmmm?).

  • @UkeliDokeli

I'm most familiar with the Raffi tune, but according to Wikipedia the original version is called Oh du lieber Augustin. Apparently it tells the true story of a bagpiper who got stuck in a black plague mass grave and played his pipes until he was rescued. This, in my mind, is even better than a song about getting together.

  • @thingsBIGthe hmm I don't believe that is a true story ;) so they say it is. Makes for a cool story though.

  • @thingsBIGthe I remember it as a child called Ach Du Lieber Augustine. I don't recall all of the lyrics in English but I do remember: "Pockets are empty, the wife she has left me, Ach Du Lieber Augustine, everything's gone.

    The German lyrics, I haven't a clue.

  • @UkeliDokeli Actually, this is a song called "Ach du Lieber Augustin".

  • @Nomzisgood It's not in Holland. But probably is in German. I have no clue who came up with the melody first. We'll fight it out on the soccerfield ;)

  • @UkeliDokeli I'm from Denmark, but I should love to have a soccer-to-the-death-match with you sometime :D

  • @Nomzisgood to the death even ;) I'm backing out then

  • @UkeliDokeli Awh! How about to serious injury then? ;)
