  • Each part can eb summed up as:

    to praise and glorify God;

    to thank God;

    to ask forgiveness from God;

    or to make a request from God.

    - forgive me to constraint it in words!

  • This mantra also relates to the Summer Solstice, which is an incredible ceremony to take part in. And we can learn how to celebrate the Solstice as a Modern-Day Mystic as well. Such amazing mantra! See how it relates to the Christ which can be found in many different cultures, as the Christ is not a thing of the orthodox religion, but something much more powerful than that. (for more info, google Christ Summer Solstice Gayatri Mantra Ceremony)

    Wishing Peace, Love and Blessing to all chanting

  • Stunning! Manose is a modern day Krishna with his flute!!! Watching and listening, I feel like a Gopi.

  • Well this is gay alright.

  • @temporaryonesix

    You are entitled to your opinion; however there are many people that love this and since you do not , do not watch this. Leave your negative comments to yourself. This is very positive music, spiritual sounds, so take your negative self somewhere else.

  • @jahmallaja

    You are entitled to your opinion, but what's negative about my comment? Nothing wrong with being gay you homophobe. This is a very gay video, so please take your homophobic self somewhere else.

  • Traditional Hinduism certainly holds that certain rituals are only performed by males, but perhaps we can take some good advice from Jesus, "Know them by their fruits!" There have been many fully enlightened women. Consider Amma, Swami Chidvilasananda, and other enlightened women. The Divine is beyond gender : )

  • Comment removed

  • I tried to reply, but messed up and wound up deleting the wrong post. Thank you for explaining that to me, and I agree that the Divine doesn't judge us based on our gender.

  • I love, love, love this mantra! It feels so good to sing it. This is my favorite rendition. I adore Deva, Miten and Manose!!

  • Another translation...wanted to share:

    Remover of pain and sorrow,

    The Bestower of happiness,

    May Thou guide our intellect in the right direction

  • @jureplentas

  • Short meaning of Gayatri Mantra is ,

    We meditate on the glory of the Creator;

    Who has created the Universe;

    Who is worthy of Worship;

    Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light;

    Who is the remover of all Sin and Ignorance;

    May He enlighten our Intellect....

  • @TheRocking29012010 couldnt have said better!

  • @TheRocking29012010 Majestatyczne...  Dziękuję.

  • @TheRocking29012010 I think there are as many translations of Gayatri as there are translaters. I don´t understand Sanskrit but my understanding through the book "Gayatri Mantra" by Shanti Mayi is different:

    Throughout the different realms of existence;

    physical, mental, intellectual

    is the luminous supreme cosmic vibration.

    By meditive reception may expel suffering and sins

    and enlighten and rejoice all beings

    into the magnificant bliss of pure awareness.

  • Om bhur bhuvaha svaha

    Tat savitur varenyam

    Bhargo devasya dhimahi

    Dhiyo yonah prachodayat

  • I have this song on the Planet Yoga CD. I always love it. It's a trat to see it performed.

  • Recently, learned that Deva Premal and Miten are suggesting we chant it to help healing the oceans and all beings who live there. Here are the words in Sanskrit:

    Om, bhur bhuvaha svaha

    Tat savitur varenyam

    Bhargo devasya dhimahi

    Dhiyo yonah prachodayat

    Watch their video and chant along with them as you imagine the Gulf of Mexico and all the worlds Oceans clean, healthy and vital. This includes all the beings that live there and those who rely on the Oceans as well, including people.

  • @blumoonwillow You, who are the source of all power,

    Whose rays illuminate the whole world,

    Illuminate also my heart

    So I to may do Your work.
