I got boxers fracture and I want to know will my hand be exactly the same as before as if it never happened after it heals or will it not move as well and if I had another x-ray after would it look like the rest of my bones.
I suppose what am asking is will the be any permanent damage even a little or will it be as if it never happened???
My right hand got boxers fracture on the second metacarpal and third from punching walls cement and a handy cap sign my bone density is much thicker than average so i didnt have to get pins but i have to wear a splint for 4 weeks and break it back back into place
i had a boxer's fracture a few days back. my doctor says i might need to have surgery on it. but i wouldnt want to spend a few hundred bucks for punching a wall. my last 2 knuckles can be barely seen. will my knuckles eventually shift back into shape as well without surgery ?

shouldnt, once it heals u should be fine, your pinky might not line up the same way it used to biut theres no way of fixing that, but yeah as long as it heals fien u should be ok
HERE'S THE SHORT AND SWEET OF BOXERS FRACTURE.... I have broken mine two times in in the same place. It WILL take a while to heal. I still feel some things that are not normal and that is 2 years later. You do not HAVE to get surgery on it but if you do not it's not going to grow back right. This is my second time to break it and my hand actually looks normal. Doc said don't break it again though... Needless to say I don't punch things anymore.
i punched a stop sign 2 days ago and got a boxers fracture, my bone was at a 55* angle and the doctor set it to a 25* angle. he give me a bottle of naproxen 500mg for the pain and swelling. he also put on a half cast going from the middle of my little finger to about 4 inches from my elbou and wraped it with bandage around my arm and 4th and 5th fingers. he said i might need a pin if the bone moves. i go get x-rays in 4 days.
i had a boxer fracture twice, braking the same place twice. dont punch studs in the wall! and dont punch people in the side of the face. my hand looks kinda fucked right now it's my second time braking it and i took my cast off early so there's all kinds of shit wrong with it but it's cool.

I wish I could tell you. Mine happened three months ago and I still have a ton of pain in the heat or the cold amd there is still a bludge under the skin which they told me I could fix with surgery but I can barely pay the 400$ med bill and yes I had insurance.

no the doctors said I might need surgery.
but after the swelling went down things shifted back into shape. dont jump into surgery, they are trying to make money.
