2) He'll be fighting for the Premiership title, not trying to survive staying in it

3) Forms a strong partnership with Terry

4) Seals a place in the England squad because of his strong performance alongside Terry.

@royalarctic Alex is the one that submitted the transferred request, if anyone needs to swallow their "ego" it's Alex. He was just getting back from injury and was picking up games slowly, then all of a sudden submits a request to leave. I would have felt betrayed as well. So it's all Alex's fault. Love him but his fault not AVB's.

Disappointed if the stall in the Cahill deal is over money. He isn't the sort of player that should be anywhere near that kind of money. Hopefully it is just media BS as usual. I like the stance we are now taking. We refuse to pay over the odds in transfer fees and wages. The only club who would offer Cahill more is City. Interesting who our other target will be. Is it a midfielder, forward or defender? Hulk is never going to happen. For £80 mil I would be looking at only 2 players.

@FallenAngelYuill I have said this to people time an time again but you do relise 80m for hulk is a buyout clause this isnt what chelsea would offer. they would offer more relistic fee which porto could accept the clause is if we offered 80m. porto have no say its all up to hulk either way i would think he will stay at porto till summer. an we been linked with cavani moutinho di maria higuan van der viel etc lots of players so who knows :) .

@digatalbaboon I am not 100% on this but I think Porto only have a stake in Hulk rather than fully own him. I think they recently increased their stake in the player during the summer. This makes a deal far more complicated. We would have to make sure both parties were happy which would mean a high fee. Besides even if we got Hulk he plays RW where Sturridge is playing. I think it is just media specualtion becuase of the ties between AVB and Porto. Nothing concrete has been made.
