Because you're so used to the english dubbed voices and the way they sound in it, when you watched this video and heard different voices to the same characters, you probably instinctively rejected it as not matching because of your attachment to the english voices. The English voice actors did a fabulous job, but there is something about the original Japanese translation that truly has its own beauty. It's the samll things that were lost in translation going to the English version that mean so much to the listener.

Not withstanding that I hope that the actual game lives up to the huge hype these cut scenes are developing, but here's another rather pertinent point I'd like to bring up..
Look at the visuals here... These scenes are done on a FRACTION of the budget than any of the CGI movies produced by Pixar, Dreamworks and other Western studios have made in the last few years.
Can you IMAGINE what the Japanese could do with a similar budget?!?!
Of course that is possible but considering Japanese film/animation productions have never dealt in the type of financial extravagance that Hollywood is MORE than willing to waste on really bad films, perhaps they would try to make the MOST of those resources, rather than just focusing on short-sighted, all flash, no substances features. :)

They also think up original stuff, so they don't need to spend billions of dollars on legal crap. Are you sure about this? If so where did you hear this information? I'm contemplating on importing because of the theme-song change, but if there's dual audio then there's no point. Not caring too much about Japanese VO but I wouldn't mind that I guess.
It's just a fact, man. And, btw, Final Fantasy 12 is not a good example of this, as it still contains a lot of the original vision. A great example of this is any FFVII compilation game. They are all bastardizing, commerical works.
Well those type of works don't have much real artistic vision to begin with. Like the compilation games you speak of. You, me, everyone knows that Crisis Core was just a slapped on story that wasn't preplanned nor was the story ever set in stone. It wasn't a bad game however. If any, the perfect example of what you speak of would be the abomination known as FFX-2. That completely tore apart the great story told in FFX and has to be the worst I've experienced in the entire series.
It makes you wonder why he's put in the main character's list on the Japanese website. Course, Serrah is, too, but its still very interesting that he'd appear there......I'm sensing Cid Raines has a much bigger part to the story than we think.
They are on a quest to revive Serah. I'm positive that they will either find a way to remove the l'cie marks (Or die at the end of the game>:( ) I am very sure that this would involve killing their summons in the process (How sad). Also, while I'm certain that there will only be 6 MAIN characters in the game, that doesn't exclude guest characters (Think Sephiroth, Seymour, Larsa, or any other drop in characters from FF). Thus, the concept of Cid being "In the party" isn't completely unreal.
Mind is officially blown. Even though I'm a longtime fan since the SNES days, I was on the fence for awhile after watching the first few trailers and reading up on it. That's all over now as this seals the deal.
This game will be increadible, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. However, there will be one game which will surpass them all: Final Fantasy Versus XIII. (Go Noctis!!!)

I so reckon they should make more movies (as can be seen by advent children - i'm not counting spirits within because that was B*A*D BAD!). The only thing i wish they'd not do is dub the voices.

@ChaosCat79 Im pretty sure if they remade Final Fantasy 7 with these gaphics and some epic bonuses,enhanced storyline(deeper sub-plots like the events in yuffies village and maybe minigames,ect...(we talking about all the stuff they didnt get the chance before to add in) along with voiceovers.. If they added all that im pretty sure fans would shit enoug gold bricks for them to fund anything.

Apparently there will be dual audio for the ps3...but not the xbox 360. Yoshinori Kitase, designer and producer of Final Fantasy XIII, confirmed it. :D

I think he means that PS3 version has both Japanese sound track + English subtitle and English sound track + English subtitle.

Are you sure about this? If so where did you hear this information? I'm contemplating on importing because of the theme-song change, but if there's dual audio then there's no point. Not caring too much about Japanese VO but I wouldn't mind that I guess.

It's just a fact, man. And, btw, Final Fantasy 12 is not a good example of this, as it still contains a lot of the original vision. A great example of this is any FFVII compilation game. They are all bastardizing, commerical works.

Well those type of works don't have much real artistic vision to begin with. Like the compilation games you speak of. You, me, everyone knows that Crisis Core was just a slapped on story that wasn't preplanned nor was the story ever set in stone. It wasn't a bad game however. If any, the perfect example of what you speak of would be the abomination known as FFX-2. That completely tore apart the great story told in FFX and has to be the worst I've experienced in the entire series.

It makes you wonder why he's put in the main character's list on the Japanese website. Course, Serrah is, too, but its still very interesting that he'd appear there......I'm sensing Cid Raines has a much bigger part to the story than we think.

They are on a quest to revive Serah. I'm positive that they will either find a way to remove the l'cie marks (Or die at the end of the game>:( ) I am very sure that this would involve killing their summons in the process (How sad). Also, while I'm certain that there will only be 6 MAIN characters in the game, that doesn't exclude guest characters (Think Sephiroth, Seymour, Larsa, or any other drop in characters from FF). Thus, the concept of Cid being "In the party" isn't completely unreal.
