Didn't it start in Spain but the Catholic church spread it throughout Europe? And Martin Luther's writings were used to supported it's use on Jews? There was several waves of the Iquisition over a 200- 300 yr time span.Spain used 1 to eliminate the Jews they borrowed money from to send Christopher Columbus to discover the new world.
