Societies have reinforced it SO MUCH among men and women (men have to be "manly" and women "feminine") that we've FORGOTTEN just how much of it is due to environment, and we've internalized masculinity and femininity. The feminist movement allowed more women to "be male" in order to break the glass ceiling and be liberated, but for some reason, we still don't think MEN should "be like women", even slightly. Sergio, the prom queen, said he would wear a suit and that friends were behind him, so I would let them have it. I would prefer an option were there was a chance for two guys to be kings or two girls to be queen. I wouldn't want to create separate proms, but, maybe there could be a meeting halfway.

Does anybody think it's cruel to create a society where men become sperm donors for gay couples and that that child will NEVER know what it's like to have their REAL father and could have been mother? 'Real' parents are the ones who spend years raising, educating and caring for their kids, not those who donate their sperm for money. Gender is, to some extent, nothing but a social construct. Societies have reinforced it SO MUCH among men and women (men have to be "manly" and women "feminine") that we've FORGOTTEN just how much of it is due to environment, and we've internalized masculinity and femininity. The feminist movement allowed more women to "be male" in order to break the glass ceiling and be liberated, but for some reason, we still don't think MEN should "be like women", even slightly. This exact thing happened on Glee and it was meant to be an insult to the gay character, Kurt. But he held his head high and took the crown elegantly. Sergio, the prom queen, said he would wear a suit and that friends were behind him, so I would let them have it. How is this going to affect us in the future generations. You can already see when children are taken from their families and how boys that lack paternal love end up searching high and low for that love and end up in situations that are detrimental to themselves.
