@511Garcia Muhammad Rafi was am Indian singer who sang this song in 1965 for the Hindi movie Gumnaam. He died in 1980, long before the Heineken commercial was filmed.
The guy in the Heineken commercial was just lip synching to the song, he wasn't actually singing it.
@511Garcia You should see the original song clip and then you will understand why this song was used in Ghost World and the Heineken Ad. It is mind-blowing considering the video clip came out in 1965. And yes, the guy singing in this new clip is also lip-synching.
@rafflecupter what do you mean technically. Your statement implies we are Asian on a technicality. We are Asian based on definition not a technicality.... Im just trying to nitpick lol
the real credit needs to go to the composers, Shankar Jaikishan. mohammed rafi is the singer.. please like if you feel shankar jaikishans name needs to be highlighted..
This track is from an Indian movie called "Ghumnaam" meaning "The Unknown". The movie was a murder mystery suspence thriller released in 1965 and did great business in it's day.
The music director is the legendary due of "Shankar And Jaikishan" who have few hundred movies to their credit.
The singer is the one and only Supreme playback singer "Mohmed Rafi" who has over 25,000 songs sung to his credit.
You can watch the Original at : watch?v=aHA_S48KRrI&feature=related
@TheSNash87 Ignore my last comment, the proper genre for this song is just plain Rock and Roll, not indian rock and roll even though its foreign you just put "Rock and Roll". I know because i asked my music teacher he has his doctorate in music. Hope this helps.
this song was made by composers named shankar-jaikishan.they were the greatest composers in indian history.in the actual movie they used instruments like saw to make ghost sound effects
what's the name of the song that is as well part of the soundtack of this movi??? it has actually just been"re-mixed", (not to say destroyed =\) by yolanda b cool or ... something like that.. i think the song is called "we no speak americano... but i haven't found the original one... =\
