MUSICCOUCHING had Radiohead as #1; MSNBC has The Beatles as #1; RateYourMusic has Led Zeppelin as #1. Kerrang named Metallica "Best Band on The Planet" (record sales and awards influenced their decision.... sound familiar fanboys?). Ironically on their 2007 100 Greatest Rock Albums GNR "Appetite for Destruction" was #1 (MOP #2).

but i remeber i went to google and typed 100 best bands, and it list them by sales or something but what i saw is that led zepelin was #1 and the beatles were#2 and so on and metallica was #8 and im not sure if megadeth was on it or not, but list on how sucessful but just because they are succesful dont mean that YOU will like it, you listen megadeth and i listen to both GREAT

kirkmetalupurass Megadeth cannot be inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame because they do not yet meet their criteria. Their criteria is clearly stated on their website.
I think it's very doubtful that Megadeth ever will be inducted into the Hall... but Metallica fanboys need to understand it's not because they "suck". In fact there are a lot of great metal bands who have not and probably never will be inducted.

Maybe Metallica soldout... maybe they didn't. I don't really care as long as they make good music. And that's where my problem with them lies. In my opinion they really haven't produced anything of substantial quality since the black album. But it's all subjective so to each their own.

No, they didn't make their own music, they went mainstream with the Black album, sold loads so they decided to keep the mainstream sound and it made them loads.
Do you KNOW what sellout means? Load/Re/St are all sold out albums for money. Not because they loved doing crappy and shit music.
But I love them. Metallica is my favourite band and I listen to their first 4 and DM albums all the time.
I'd even say Metallica > Megadeth.
