I work retail in Seattle, and Gary Locke actually stopped in our store with his daughter sometime in January, weeks before he was nominated to Sec. of Commerce. At that point, I just knew him as the former gov., and was too nervous to speak to him, but wish I had. Lo and behold, he was thrust into the national spotlight weeks later. How I wish I knew that then.

Gary Locke is the 10 millionth person to destroy the liberal myth that in America, poor people are helpless, and can't get ahead. His grandpa came over penniless from China, and he ends up governor of Washington State, then Commerce Secretary. For people with merit, and/or hardwork, hopefully both, becoming rich/successful is within your reach, no matter where you come from. At the very least, you can make middle class, like most people do.

I don't follow your logic, but yes successful people should run from liberal policies and so should everyone else. We have equality of opportunity in the US, the rest is up to you.
