Let me say a couple of things here. I grew up in the eighties, Madonna started it all then every female artist followed suit. Their we're artist that the record producers were trying to copy Madonna's style. The other thing I want to say is I'm a straight guy I have 80 Madonna songs on my IPhone im not sure why the gender separation. Music is music and I don't get we're be gay or straight qualifies us to listen to certain kinds of music. Today's music by the way doesn't even stack up

I love this song but it brings back only one memory: 1988, me at age 8 or 9 listening to this on cassette. I was dancing by myself and my conservative mom walked in when Madonna sings: do you want to see me down on my knees, bending over backwards would you be pleased, im not like the others i'll do anything i have no shame, im on fire.". She freaked out and she threw out the cassette, calling Madonna's music "bad" for kids LOL I had no idea she was singing about sex. I just wanted to dance!
