  • Hiya,

A few questions if you don't mind?

Which PSA is it? The PSA1 or PSA1.1? Also, which patch did you have the PSA set to?

Did you have a little chorus on there as well??

    Cheers

    Baz

  • @bazman1uk - Hi, it is the PSA 1.1. I used stock preset #5, hi gain marshall, with no tweaks. The SE-70 was in the loop on a patch, with 400msec delay, stereo chorus at 50% mix, and room reverb at 15%mix.

    -Regards

  • 0:18 nice dog

  • i love this video nice job! no wonder you got 2nd place!

  • You shouldve came in first, i honestly think you shouldve.

  • Hey bro. GREAT tone here!

Just a quick question if you don't mind. Exactly how was this recorded? Did you go directly into a computer from your PSA? Or did you go through an amp?

  • @MeTuLHeD - thanks, psa direct to pc via m-audio delta 1010 interface, with the SE-70 in the loop providing a little reverb & delay

  • @bluestrat67: Dude...that PSA-1 sounds amazing! The tone is so organic...it really sounds like an amp. No "digitalitus" if you know what I mean...

  • awesome playing, and beautifull guitar!!!!

    cheers ;)

  • Nice solo, lots of feel

  • @lauriemonk - Thank you, Laurie!

  • Great job, nice licks! reminds me of Guthrie Govans tone.

    cheers!

  • @jashobbsie - thanks, jason!

  • Do you have your neck pocket shimmed for the non recessed bridge? Can you pull back much on your floyd? Nice playing btw :)

  • @jbohler33 - Thanks! No shims were used. Warmoth angles the neck pocket making the trem set up easier . With the springs tight, I have the trem level/flush with the body (my preference on strats), and it will not move ... except to dive. With some shimming, you could easily set it up to have enough float for at least a full step up. I have Ibanez RG's with floating Edge trems that can be pulled back like crazy , but I rarely do much of that any more these days...

  • @bluestrat67 Thanks so much for the response I've been trying to find someone who knew more about this :)

So would you say that with some shimming you could pull back as much as a recessed bridge, and have low action? Thanks again.

  • @jbohler33 - Usually not as much pull back ... maybe a full step & a half up for the 3rd string open G before the floyd starts looking like it's balanced high above the body surface. If you really need to pull back, it's probably better to get a recessed bridge so the trem can be situated into the body for a lower profile. But if I recall correctly, Brad Gillis' trem on his red strat is not recessed, & he's got it set to pull back a lot.

  • @bluestrat67 I currently play a guitar with a recessed bridge but I've seen guitarists with non recessed bridges bending back extremely far. I'm just interested to know because I am planning on having a guitar built and am wondering whether I should have it recessed or non recessed and set up a certain way for bending back a lot. I read somewhere that situating the bridge 75mm from the top of the body was ideal, but I still don't know about the other specs. Thanks anyway.

  • Thanks. I´m intending to buy a warmoth neck but my old neck has 53,4mm wide on 12th fret. That is great for floyd rose that has 53 mm. I´m afraid that warmoth neck has narrow neck and the strings can slip out of the neck easily. Do you know wide is your neck at 12th fret?

  • @BrasilGuitar - at the 12th fret, the neck is 51mm wide, the usable fret top surface is about 50mm, & the strings are 45mm apart between low & high E.

  • And what about radius? Straight or compound? By the way, nice color!

  • @BrasilGuitar - Thanks! The body color is charcoal frost. Specs on the neck: maple, standard thin, compound radius, R4 nut, 6100 jumbo stainless steel frets, satin finish with vintage tint.

  • standard neck or wizard?

  • @BrasilGuitar -standard back contour

  • Nice solo, nice sound, nice melody! ;D And nice hair. :D

  • @TheKilljoy091 - Thanks! It was a good hair day! LOL :-D

  • nice playing, home built guitar?

  • @leepetersonuk - Thanks, Lee! Yes, completed putting it together shortly after the holidays. Haven't played any guitar in the months since then, so it's getting broken in now!

  • Dude, Great playing here! love that sound and feel! good luck to ya! 5 stars for sure man!

  • Dude very nice guitar ,shiny and excellent solo ,really like this one :)
