  • they did im awake now when i saw em at worlds fair park sept 11th 99. they played old school jams out the ass. they even played 2 or 3 songs from hold me up. i haven't seen any songs performed off that album in ten+ years. the old songs rock and are almost punk, but the times demand the hits. So i doubt anyone is gonna see too much of there you are and the jams from the freddy movies

  • Wow when Suran and Rzeznik both go crazy at the same time, the sound they make is incredible. I don't know why they don't do that more often.

  • This show was amazing! the setlist is the best goo setlist ive seen

  • First records were great, the sell out shit sucks.Saw them at Cabaret Metro in Chicago before they went limp!

  • First records were great, the sell out shit sucks.

  • Sound awesome live!!!!! Great freakin band!!!

  • id fckin do anything to hear em play this song at a gig :(((

  • I can't believe it took them until 1995 to make it big, this song is my second favorite goo song!

  • I never thought I'd get to see a vid of "There You Are" played live. This is definitely FTW!XD Thanks for posting!

  • I really wish they'd play some of these older songs on their current tour

  • @Xeltosxx, he has to be proud :D Omg... He's so lucky :D

  • @MonikaGSkMk

    Jets a girl :P

  • Hahahaha sorry xD I didn't get the name so... Sorry xD

  • sexy beast XD

  • Another awesome Performance. :O

Robby linked this one too :P

You must feel special now Jet :P

  • I want Johnny's blazer, so cool!

  • wot a setlist! this is one of their best songs :D pity they nvr play it at gigs :(

  • What was the first song in this setlist?

  • @plzshutupcully ,

    Naked

  • Great Song.

    Great Setlist.

Youtube could definitly use the music video for this song.

It's the best goo goo doll video without a doubt.

  • There You are was their best video too, maybe their ONLY good video. Can anyone post it on YouTube? It's on VH1, but it's kinda hard to get to. Thanks

  • This set list is awesome!!! It could only be improved if they did this after Gutterflower and they included Big Machine, What Do You Need, Tucked Away, Smash, and Truth Is a Whisper.

  • There you are= Goo Goo dolls at their best

  • totally their best song-

  • Still their best song... classic Dolls.

  • Amen.

  • the solo seems different =/ i like it!!

  • their best single

  • If I could pick 1 GGD concert to go to this would b it or the Boy Named Goo tour anything that doesn't feature #s from Let Love In

  • True. Let Love In disapointed big time.

  • I love their old stuff like this, but I still love Let Love In, I really don't know why people freak out about it. Yeah it was different than all they've done before, but that's part of the fun of liking the band. They're willing to do stuff like that and I respect them as musicians for that.

  • i agree, and of course let love in is going to have light songs on it, thats the theme,

  • @bpcarlson01 I wouldn't have a problem with that if it seemed like they actually enjoyed the new songs...but they (and by they I really just mean Johnny) has no passion when he plays anymore.

  • lol

  • his voice isnt bad =/

  • I don't think his voice is really bad...

But I have noticed him not even trying to hit

notes. Partially agree with ya! peace

    GGD's rock though!

  • I saw they a few times on 08 Tour...he just cant reach high notes anymore...his smoking habit is ruining his voice...I dont understand artits somemes!! :/ His voice isnt bad, you misunderstood me, sorry!

  • Saw them opening for the Replacements on this tour in 1990-91 era.

Damn do they owe Westerberg and the lads big time.... they figured out how to take that sound commercial the way the 'Mats (thankfully) never could (or would).

  • i can't believe this song came out in 1990. it was so ahead of its time, i mean sound-wise.

  • I totally agree!

  • @ballaguitara That's probably because it didn't come out in 1990, it was 1995.

  • @Skeletine um no it didn't. it's on the album "hold me up" and that came out in 1990.

  • @ballaguitara really? i hear alot of similarities to the replacements, not that that's a bad thing, it's actually good. check out the replacements song "bastards of young" and you might see what i mean. or, maybe you have already heard it and have a different opinion. i like the goos alot, but don't think they would be the band they are without the replacements, just like the replacements wouldn't be the band they are without Alex Chilton. hell, the mats even wrote a song about the guy!

  • @ballaguitara No offense, but you should listen to the Replacements if you think was ahead of it's time. It sounds EXACTLY like a Replacements song from years before.

  • @ballaguitara ever heard The Replacements album "Tim?" it came out in 85 i believe, and this song kinda resembles that sound... in my opinion at least. The Goo Goo Dolls were heavily influenced by The Replacements.

  • What a nice song...i can't find it anywhere ;__;

  • try Hole Me UP

  • amazing concert

  • wow this is the first time I've ever seen this song performed live, did they ever do I'm awake now live???

  • Dude, I would kill to get my hands on a video of them performing I'm Awake Now live. It's a great song. =D

  • @MikeBannShow Not likely...

  • OMG I nvr heard them perform There You Are live b4, that was amazing! Its one of my all time fav GGD songs, Id love if they played it at a concert I was at :) Hint hint!! Come back to Ireland!!!! XD

  • love this song and i totally agree they should play this more often and they should come back to ireland, i'm from belfast but it gives me an excuse to go to dublin for the weekend and see my favourite band. GOO GOO DOLLS ROCK!

  • although most of their early stuff is pretty raw (that's a good thing, not a bad thing) this might be one of the best all-around songs they have out of anything they've written. definitely top five GGD material for me.

  • classic punk rock :)

  • This would easily be the greatest Goo concert I could ever go to. The songs they sang for this surprised me. Amazing old stuff.

  • Whats the name of the album with this song?

  • Hold Me Up, it's a classic album :)

  • Cool, goo goo dolls need more of this kind again

  • Holy shit. Indeed, what a fuckin setlist. There You Are? Bullet Proof? Flat Top? Girl Right Next To Me? Long Way Down? Throw in Name and Iris and you have quite an evening. Goddamn!

  • Substitute Naked for Iris.

  • This is my favorite song from them too and this setlist came down from the hand of God for sure! I would give a major organ to have been at this show! OMFG!

  • This set DEFINITELY came down from the hand of God!!! I can't even believe it!

  • so true.

  • Cheers Mike!, it seems my comments didn't go down well with lovers of ballady AOR lighters aloft type music that the Goo's now put out (I expect Robby isn't too happy about it either if he was honest). Aw well, I'll not lose sleep over it lol. Let's hope they can rediscover the

more exciting music of the past.

  • i agree completely, sscw and those albums were incredible compared to the crap album they just put out

  • The stuff they've recently put out is definitely not as great as their old stuff.. And we've all got an opinion, but I still love the new stuff too.. I just wish they'd put more of the PreDizzy stuff back in the set dammit goos!!

  • While this is no doubt a great song, "Better Days" from Let Love In is just as great, if not better.

  • Hmmmmmm, that's a matter of opinion but hey we are allowed one! Personally I think the Goo's releasing Let Love In should be done under the Trade Description Act and have released under a different name to avoid confusion with the Goo Goo Dolls the rock band.

  • Yeah, it's a completely different band now, not to say they're not good now, but they were amazing when they wrote songs like this. Jed and Hold Me Up are 2 of the greatest albums ever, not to say Dizzy Up the Girl and Let Love In are bad.

  • I like your sense of humour! Irony is fab. he he

  • I so love this song! they should play it more often!

  • paul westerburg.

  • This set list is AMAZING! Some of their best are on there that they never play anymore. Dang, I wish I was there.

  • BEST FREAKING SET LIST EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD... I swear the Goos can't get better than this, all their old stuff... THERE YOU ARE! INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just made my day... thanks so much...

  • Johnny Reznik has the most awesome voice ever !!!

    No doubt !!!

  • Hold me up !! very nice old album of the googoo's !

  • done! =)

  • thanks man

  • lot of old songs on this concert nicely done GGD

  • ahhh.... so nice to see a vintage goo song, especially all jazzed up like this. I haven't seen them do this song since 1999.

  • Im on the floor. I think i just passed out. There You Are is my favorite GGD song of all time and ive never seen a live version..i actually just had a heart attack. omfg. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • This is the most recent video of There You Are I've seen, thanks so much for posting it! I love this concert!
