I want to paint a picture that expresses this song and moves those who lay their eyes on it. That would probably be one of my greatest achievements in my life.
It's ridiculous how well Sigur Ros and BBC's nature programmes go together. It'll love to see the band do a soundtrack to one of their programmes, like Mogwai did with the Zidane film. Amazing.
This song has guided me through the harshest times of depression. It lead me into a new chapter of my life, recovery. Anyone who denies music's healing effects is wrong. The song translates into 'glowing sun' and basically describes finding light in darkness. I'm not good with Icelandic, but something within the music, the voice, gradually healed me when the antidepressants DID NOT. Thank you Sigur Ros.
Anyone else think there should be a Planet Earth-like series that's just beautiful footage and awesome music, no narration? I'd pay to see, no, experience that in an Imax.
When I am watching this video and listening to the music, it transports me to a place of serenity and peace. Just an amazing feeling. My life is better and so too is my perspective after having been exposed to this. Thank you.
150+ years of evolutionary evidence suggests otherwise; we are just as much part of the ecosystem and the world as any other animal or organism. Their demise is also our demise, and so we need to be responsible with our actions and our views. True stewards of the earth would realize this.
Hi all, just trying to spread the word about a new community site we're putting together based around our planet - earth-forums (dot) com. Take a look if you'd like!
When I hear this song, I think of growing. The music and the voice is so enlightening, and you just feel like everything is waking up to see the glowing sun (hence the title). Like a flower blooming, and reaching towards the sun. So full of life, and so beautiful.
Things like this are really helping me right now. I am being persecuted for something that I have no idea of what i could have done. This helps me realize that none of it will matter in time, whether truth and valour are known or not. I hope everyone at some point of their life is able to take a step back and realize what they are saying about somebody can really hurt them, mentally or physically..especially if it isn't true. When the world feels like a very horrible place, i'll think of this.
I would always listen to this on my mp3 in winter, while taking a walk or with my dog, and something about this song made such a simple walk so powerful. It would be nearly dark outside, and then it'd begin to rain or snow. I'd sit on a bench, almost in the forest 'cuz I live in the mountains, and the snow would fall while this song played. It just felt like my own personal music video. It was so beautiful.

Well, pls dont see this as a spam, but this might interest some of you..
I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"
If you've got time, listen to their song "Lost in timeless horizons"
This reminds me to the reaction from people to the movie Avatar, about how beautiful Pandora is and that everyone wanted to be a Navi...
These people should look around and realize that our planet, Earth, is already an amazing beautiful planet and that they have to open their eyes and go out into the nature sometimes...
@Dude0Vinni0Dude I couldn't agree more! in the movie one of the Navi says "They killed their mother and they are here to kill ours." Our planet is just as beautiful as Pandora, it's just no one has any regard for our beautiful planet. We need to return to old veiws; Earth centered views that sustained 100+ million years.. or we can keep insisting that the planet is here to be consumed while our civilization comes apart at the seams... I wish more people would acknowledge this matter...
Fantastic work! You joined the video clips and audio beautifully! I'd love to see a higher quality version this, do you have an HD rendering online anywhere?
yes the music is absolutly beautiful, and it's so amazing that this is a glimpse into the Creator's soul, and this is what he has to offer to us. The greatest love story ever told. Can't wait:)
@xjorgex Even mighty Odin, Thor and Freyr looking on from deep within Asgard would be proud of their creation shown here. The gate to Valhalla can be seen at 4:00. Just amazing.
When worries and insecurities of living hang heavy on your shoulders, Feel the music lift your soul and move it at a slow and loving pace from life to another. Where you can run through foggy forests catching each note as they vibrate, passing through every sunbeam. Let this music blow into you it's peace, and let your body and soul be put into unison where they will move in a trance that could take years to escape.
Oh my goodness, this is really spectacular editing-- you really "get" the song. Great use of this footage. I think it's even better than the official video. Although I have to say, probably what some other people feel too, that the best appreciation for this music is the imagery we get in our own minds, and the application it has to our own lives. That's what's awesome about it. But this is good for those who may not connect to the music right away.
This video together with the music of? Sigur ros we it should put to our children every day before beginning the college. I believe that an image costs more than thousand words, not? This is a beauty that enters the ears and the eyes.
Este video junto con la música de sigur ros deberíamos ponérselo a nuestros hijos todos los días antes de empezar el colegio. Creo que una imagen vale más que mil palabras, ¿no?
Esto es belleza que entra por los oídos y los ojos.
i get up in the morning to take the bus that take me where i work, and after i have to take the same bus to go home, see the same places, the same people, every single day and when i see this video it makes me think all the beautiful things that i'm missing,
@jettro82 Please do not forget the beauty that is around you though my friend! :) Sometimes all we have to do to be happy is aknowledge the beauty of the simple things we see everyday. I had the pleasure of living in Iceland for a year. Hiking the Icelandic lava fields, floating in the Blue Lagoon with snow falling on your face, and just sitting on the North Atlantic shoreline gives you an understanding of the musical roots of Sigur Ros. Sometimes raw, sometimes polished, yet always deeply spiritual. Every time I listen to their music it takes me back...
This was done so beautifully. I frequently watch this video over and over. I get goosebumps every time the song heightens and the video of the Aurora Borealis comes up. You are a genius and I am so thankful for your work!

Great song, one of my favourites, and amazing footage. Unfortunately, Glosoli roughly translates as 'Glowing Sun' or 'Glowing Soul' (there are several translations apparently) and so it doesn't really fit an ice video.
I want to paint a picture that expresses this song and moves those who lay their eyes on it. That would probably be one of my greatest achievements in my life.

Step out in front of my bed and see filthy shoes.
And here you are, I'm feeling.
And here you are, glowing sun.

Stunning nonetheless though.
