just for the record, you can go to the example files much easier. when the arduino software is open, click file then exemple and there you have also al the files.
Hi there Im brand new to the arduino microcontroller. I hear it's a great "user friendly" microcontroller. I was wondering if you could plug in a device that reads altitude. I was thinking a gyroscope might work but not really. Then how could I program the arduino to make a camera snap a photo at a certain hight from the device to a camera.
@flightdeckreviews You could certainly use an Arduino for that application. The Arduino could output an analog signal to use a RC servo to click the camera button or if you are brave take the camera apart and rewire the button to an Arduino discrete to snap the photo.
@flightdeckreviews The slightly harder part is finding a GPS unit that can output a trigger at a certain altitude or output an analog signal to the Arduino. The Arduino can communicate via serial so may be you could communicate with the GPS unit that way. I think I have seen a project similar to what you described if I find it again I will let you know.

I was expecting more detailed tutorial on how to program without the use of examples but a good video nonetheless.
Anywhere I can find a video with explanations on arduino programming for noobs (void setup, void loop, int, ledpin, digitalwrite bla bla bla etc etc)?

@1powelrainbow2 not 100% sure but best thing would be to actually start learning c or assembly
