you must go to general idea before going to the details. Do you know whats inside the box? even if your design is to much in the details if its not functional then it is useless, thats why you study first what is inside the box before going out since you are planning not only space but time. whats inside the box is what they can teach you but whats on outside the box is what your going to create someday. they are not going to teach you because it will come out naturally within you

My family lives in Valencia and their boss is a friend with Santiago. I study Architecture in the USA and I want so badly to meet with him sometimes. I really like his work and want to do something like him. Right now, my teachers don't let me think outsie of the bx to much which is very disappointing.

por lo q sea este wey, siempre q yop veo algun edificio que tiene piquitos, tirantes o estructuras circulares a primera vista digo esto es de calatraba porque este wey todos sus diseños son basadoas en casi lo mismo ya que le cambie estan impresionantes pero es raro ver algo diferente hasta parece que desde estadios torres puentes estaciones de metro o tren todas juntas forman un complejo o corporativo porque todas son basadas en lo mismo

Actually, don't change the music at all! Pink Floyd goes well with this presentation. Calatrava's work is truly stunning - thanks for presenting it in this format.

I DO LIKE. I think the music fits well to the pictures. Maybe they should have blended into each other throughout the whole video, but that´s really a very minor gripe, and it´s one of my favourites anyway.

As far is I can tell, Calatrava makes some stunning works. I´m living in Aachen, which is near Liège, and from time to time I can see the station, which is still under construction.

Pues a mi no me parece nada del otro mundo. A la gente le gusta porque le entra por los ojos, y la arquitectura no es solo eso.Este hombre no hace ni ingeniería, ni arquitectura. Hace esculturas muy grandes dejándose mucha pasta, y eso es un desperdicio de medios; además, muchas de las estructuras que construye tienen componentes "falsos" (es decir,no soportan cargas) y simplemente están ahí para ...adornar. Me parece triste.

Punto de vista aceptable, más no del todo loable, no entraremos en controversias de quien si hace arquitectura o quien no; en mi opinión la teoría de Calatrava es tan aceptable como verídica, mucha de la que se hace llamar arquitectura moderna, más informe que arquitectura como tal, carece de valores, que en estas imagenes, al menos yo, si percibo.

The reality is that Calatrava has developed upon ideas of others including Gabo, Eiffel Saarieen and many of the futurists using engineering/Cad advances that are possible only today. Still he deserves much credit for his phenomenal output and bringing such marvelous projects to realisation. I am in awe - however he should stick engineering and forget about creating ripp off classical ceramics celebrated only because of his reputation. K1
