How can I enlarge my scale? The line drawing i made is too small even though I put the same value as you did. Can you explain to me why is it happening? Thanks.
Hey man , really great work but i have one question as I'm beginner at Autocad drawing ... When I tried to get my 'cross' cursor to the beginning of coordinate system it not showed point 0 (zero) but something like 1288.2488 and when I putted specified first point 20,20 as you said in your clip , my line began somewhere from the left side of my drawing window and I can not see it. So can you give some advice what can I do? My scale list is 1:1 , maybe I should change it ... thanks
From cyprus watching your turorials. It's been very helpful on briefing me before I start helping my friend draw at his architecht company. Thankyou very much cadeeze. Your great at giving instructions as I am a complete beginner. Again, thank you for all your hard work, helped me a lot =)
OMG I think I love you Kind of kidding I just started an Autocad class and I have been in it one month and have been sad and lost. One video from you has totally educated and inspired me. Mahalo So very much. I will be watching the rest for sure. Awesome Tutorial....Leilani
@khenzknyt 1. Set your Units to "surveyor's unit" Command: UN (this is for units) You can see this Angle - Type - Surveyor's Unit 2. Create a LINE Command: L then click on your first point: then, to your next point, type in: @29<n5d13'20"w then, press enter. You need both north and west, (or north and east) that's why I added "n" on @29<n5d13'20"w --- and I added 20" just as an example in case you need it. if you don't need it, just type in @29<n5d13'w :-)
sorry for that, there are some weird characters i dont know why it appeared. I will just repeat this. try to read my previous comment and ignore the special characters - and try to understand without those quote and quote texts. anyway, simply type in: @29<n15d13'20"w @ - for setting new reference 29 - the distance - 29 meters < -- for angle n - for the north 5d - for 5 degrees 13' - for 13 minutes 20" - 20 seconds w - for the west
Oh! I noticed, the commands are not displaying properly. I felt so responsible in creating a video reply because of this error in displaying my replies... hehehe.
when you type the 20,20, it means that you created a line with reference to 0,0 - which is the first point.
then, when you create the @30,30 - it will make the 20,20 (which is the last point) as your NEW reference point because you typed in @
therefore, what happened is, your 20,20 added the 30,30 = 20+30=50
which becomes 50,50
if you want to make the next point 30,30 - then, don't type in the @ and you will go to 30,30 because it will use 0,0 as your reference point, and not the 20,20
Another nice tutorial! I've been using CAD for 20 years and I'm picking up some tips here! I'll never type in coordinates to draw lines, but still, a very good drill to get new folks familiar with UCS! Great job!
Thank YOu... AC is a necessary evil i know, and REALLY appreciate the help...but have you ever tried SolidWorks, Catia, ProE, etc...? a '000 times easier and faster it appears...?!?
i've been using TurboCAD for a few years and i'm trying to cross over to Auto, these tutorials have been great giving me hits and pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks alot for your time and effort that you put in making these videos. You could easily put these on DVD and make money off them, so from all of us youtube users getting this knowledge for free, THANK YOU!
"Hi!! i've watched all (of the) lessons and it was awesome!!. I'm learning fast as a beginner.thanks a lot and hope you can still add some more lessons."
let me give you a little advice man, you might want ot put that modify toolbar next to the draw toolbar, that way it will be easier to get to a command. then you wont have to go to the other side of the screen. also, it will be better if you change that command line to a single line, you might wanna delete that top line. You dont realy need it. trust me, my cad teach is a pretty old man and he knows his shit.
I appreciate the advice. However, there is a method to the madness. The toolbars are separated during these videos due to the limited resolution. When the toolbars are close together it is sometimes difficult for the user to see which one I am working from. Also, the three lines at the bottom are much easier for beginners. Often times in AutoCAD, one line does not give you a clear picture of what AutoCAD is asking for. Therefore three lines are used in training.
Thank you so much!! Really couldn't express how appreciate I am!
