I don't understand when people complain that she lost her voice after 1996. Some of my fav performances are after that time. I like her voice best during the Glitter/Charmbracelet era even though I didn't like the CD's that much...

It's a fact that she lost a great portion of her voice through the years since 1997. But SHE CAN ABSOLUTELY MAKE UP with it and kill her songs again only If she will REST.

Her voice is very vulnerable to damage, that's why she needs rest.

Like this one, ofcourse she must have a long rest to condtion her voice b4 the concert.

ALso, dont forget that the key register in this perf was transposed lower from the original

She's never had a lot of stamina. When people talk about her vocal peak in '95-'96 she hardly performed, her Daydream world tour was only 7 shows with a week in between for resting. In the early 90's her voice was so good because she was getting a lot of rest. Compare that to the many performances and promo's she does now. That's why her chest voice sounds strained. When she's well rested she sounds fantastic eg 2005 performances, after her break between Charmbracelet and Mimi.

this performance was absolutely fantastic. whoever says she lost her voice can go sing some chest notes like this! stop picking on her. shes really careful with her voice. on this new album its not my favorite, as her voice is a little raspy and irritated on some songs. but lets face it. EOM was one of the best of her albums. she proved she still had her 5 octaves and chest voice. the reason why on this album (e=mc2) it wasnt quite as good is cause she knew she didnt have to prove anything else.

the reason why she worked her butt off is because she wanted to show fans that she was not leaving any time soon. Her in the fantastic gown, the mic stand, giving us great hand moments, good moments with the mic in the stand, kneeling down to hit the note, perfection. It was almost kind of Whitney.
