To man there are many impossibilities but nothing is impossible to God. I too have a daughter is as old as you and she also often gets sick but do you know what I do when she falls sick? My money is nothing if Jesus does not bless it, doctors can do nothing and medicines will be of no use if the do not have the blessings of our Lord. She's actually been have a very tough time lately. Her overall health continues to decline. She had a g-tube inserted in November as she is having more and more difficulty chewing & swallowing. She is still experiencing seizures every couple of weeks and she gets sick very easily (currently fighting sinusitis and an ear infection in both ears). She's still a sweet little angel, though, and we cherish each day we get to spend with her. Thank you for watching & taking the time to write.

It is not the same as Alzheimers, but the effect it has on the brain is very similar, and it is a good way to quickly get the point across about the way it affects the brain. I am so sorry to say that the experimental treatment did not work. Initially, it looked as though it may, but the slight improvement we noted did not last. The teatment may have bought her some time, but that is something we will probably never know for sure.

We are watching the effects of other experimental treatments on other NPC kids. If they work, we will try them too. In the meantime, we will be participating in a five month clinical trial at the NIH which we hope will start soon.

Every case of NPC is different. There is no way to know the exact path she will take or how long we will be blessed with her. We have had a very rough couple of days, as Gabi had a seizure on Tuesday. We have spent the past 3 days in the hospital. Of course, no one can tell us when she may have another - - it could be hours, days, weeks or months.  We are just taking things as they come and trying to do all we can to keep her safe, protected and loved.
