Good job queen city on another great performance, and for the idiots who think the band determines the class the schools in is stupid..The total enrollment determines if a school is 1A-5A in Texas, i would know, the High School I'm teaching at in 2010 is moving from 3A to 4A because they are getting 300 more students, making them 92 over the 3A limit

to everybody: dont be haters. i know, im also a hater, i wont say specific names. but band is band no matter what school you go to,what your marching to, or what music your playing. no matter what grade or age we are all still learning alot,so just enjoy it while it lasts because itll all be over before you know it. ive gone through and read these comments, so just lighten up a little. sure, get mad at me for talking what i think is right, but its just my opinion, just like how you have yours.

does anyone else find it ridiculous how a band this big gets away with being 2AA? ooooh look at us we have 150 ppl and we can play a grade 4 song. Great show though don't get me wrong. how bout ya'll go to BOA(Bands of America)? that would be funny. for once the mighty QC will know what it feels like to get completely and utterly obliterated. The sailboat of reputation you guys are riding off of is approaching doldrums. Get ready to get topped.

@2011Sandman Actually there were only about 90 somethin people, and our school is a 2AA school. Almost 1/3 of the high school is in band. We don't go to BOA because we practiced so much and put a LOT of time and effort into this show that if we were to go to BOA then we would have no time to be a high schooler. Plus state is relevent to Texas bands because of UIL. Other states don't have UIL. Therefore BOA is their big competition. Just sayin.

Also, BOA and UIL have COMPLETELY different philosophies when it comes to judging. If you need proof of that check out the differences between L.D. Bell's marching show on a UIL year as compared to a BOA year. Completely different.

I'm from holliday, and were going to be there on monday and did i mention that this will be our 9th consecutive year at state. All those years we won a medal also. We won area B in prelims and finals. We KILLED everyone, even the state honor band. All i have to say is good luck. Your going to need it.

Well either way Queen City, Union Grove, and White Oak are really good bands. I'm from Anahuac and believe me we are really excited for this year. We will see all of you guys there, and be prepared for a fight because Anahuac band is 10X better than two years ago and we arent settling for 5th. So make sure you tie your shoes tight. This is going to get verrrrrry interesting.

White Oak.

QC is pretty good but so are we...so i think it will be pretty close this year.

ok longhornpimp12 i am from port isabel. a 3a band i performed yesterday at the state marching contest im in pit the pit is made of 1 senior 1 freshman 2 7th graders 5 8th graders and 1 8th grader marching the biggest bass drum Holliday was NOT the only band with 8th graders

I'm not even in pit and I think they are just as important as any section. They add a lot of effect that could otherwise not be achieved without them. Go listen to a drum corps pit warm up and see. Its pretty sick.

Wow. I could correct so many things in the show. All over. Musically, Visually, fundamentally. And I'm a 10th grader. But it was good for a 2A band. Oh by the way, pay more attention to the form when you're going from diagonal to line or vice versa. Other than small adjustments that would have made 3A even 4A look out for you, it was great, just be pickier. Oh and you had blaty brass when you faced up to the press box. Good job and congrats!

I'm from Dekalb and the first time I saw the band's UIL performance was at the Northeast Texas Marching Festival. Suffice it to say that I was blown away by their performance, after that I always wanted to go see the band preform at what ever contest we were both at. Although you beat us, Dekalb, everytime we faced off I still really liked the show.
