  • awesome video, I was out there today on the Quicksilver

  • really good video i was intrested please keep me up to date with all the facts about this really kool corla reef fam

MANZ IS ON DIS TING BLUD

  • Wow... listing the species found, change to a nudibranch/sea slug when he says "sea cucumber" ... anybody else notice this?

also, the 'polyps' of corals aren't those of jellyfish as I saw someone say... they're actually a different class of cnidarian all together; the anthozoans, closest relatives of the sea anemones!! They only have the polyp phase, unlike other cnidarians (jellies, hydras, etc.) that also have the medusoid phase. I

If you're gunna learn something, learn it correctly :)

  • 0.40 bollocks?

  • Seriously Jakvovasourman? Start with yourself and set the example of what you want to do and then ask folks to follow your footsteps?

  • The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms.

  • @TheAAMJR Don't copy from Wiki. It's plagiarism...wow. -_-

  • Worst 'Aussie' accent ever !c /

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • Watch the girl at 0.05 completely stuff the entry. Too funny!

  • u retatrded!!! fa sayin dat

  • It looks so cool, i'd like to watch it in my house instead of going there, besides, a lot of people are ruining the great barrier reef anyways.

  • I'm Australian...and that is the worst imitation of an aussie accent ever..oh god i hope its an imitation.

  • I'm gonna go find nemo now...

  • Are world is losing all of natures beauty. We shouldn't polute are world. If your diving in the great reef don't touch the corals.

  • there are so many tourists diving now that your message is a little late...I lived there in1975 and could see what was coming...untrained divers literally walk on the coral because they haven't been trained to properly use their bc.

  • 1:28 ????

  • Cool

  • simply one of the 7wonders of nature in my books.....

  • And the official books too....lol

  • Lol Im going sailing there for three months next year! Better make the most of it!

It'll be awesome, shit thats pretty scary about the pollution fact.

  • because of heavy tourism and pollution, this place is estimated to have lost 95 percent of its coral life by 2050. Finding that out makes me wanna kill 3 billion people....

  • start with america, then china then maybe russia or zimbabwe hmmm dunno

  • @jakovasourman1212 the climate on earth has changed everythime, its not all our fault. the vulcanos do more then us anyways

  • @jakovasourman1212 That would make you a murderer and an idiot. I love the reef as much as the next person, but that kind of talk is lunacy even in jest.

  • im going there soon!

  • it is so sad about the bleaching that is happeneing 2 the reef!!

  • thats the worst australian accent ive ever heard

  • LoL.. TRUE..

  • cool

  • LETS BLOW IT UP

  • sounds like a feast made for me love sea-food

  • i guess i should learn how to swim if i plan on going there hey?

  • A Polyp is in the same Phyla as a jellyfish. It is basically the first stage of a jellyfish. Both in Phyla Cnidaria, a Polyp is sessile, while a Medusa (otherwise called Jellyfish) is the mobile of the two.

  • Do you know what a coral polyp is?

Like what the coral is made of?

  • can someone list some abiotic factors for here?

  • Less than 20% coral is in good condition here.

Australian Government distorts great barrier reef as good place and makes it seems like it is far better than it is.

Best reefs are in Indonesia and Philippines.

Barrier reef is dying from variety of reasons including too many tourists in too smaller areas.

Not worth the visit there unless you have big bucks for the outer reef.

  • R u serious??

    R u australian??

  • This is a fact. Barrier reef is in bad shape. Made worse bt rising acidity of your part of the ocean. The outer reefs can be good, but most inner reefs are mediocre at best. However, depends on your experience in diving, etc as to what makes you happy/what you like to pay for.

  • ahahaha when the clown fish was wiggling around...way too cute!!

    :-)

  • lol

  • YOU ARE A SICK PERSON

  • what kinda dimwit would take suck a comment literally?

  • i <3 this reef. its so beautiful and intersting!

  • very sad that global warming and human pollution is causing so much destruction to these spectacular reefs.

  • going in december

  • lol its scary wildlife :D

  • I love this reef

  • me 2.

  • the commentary was written by a sixth grader

  • Did you people know that you can pay just $60 dollars for one full day on the reef, which includes snorkelling, free scuba diving lesson, meals....that's what I call a deal.

  • COOL! I really want to go snorkeling now there now!

  • me 2

  • Sigh...

While I appreciate that everybody has this appreciation for nature, I can't help but wonder that the area gets swarmed by tourists.

  • No, the area is too big for that to happen

  • I wanna go!!

  • is'int better an Egypt Hurghada!!!!1

  • Double awesome!!lol

  • I went in june.

    t'was awesome

    there was a shark

    and a sting ray

    and it was awesome!!

  • ah man, I'd give anything to go to Austrailia and go snorkeling there!

  • i live in Australia!

  • the female diver is so funny when she does her back entry in the water lol

  • o by the way, are there any good diving spots near Connecticut?

    i doubt so..

i want to go diving but its expensive

  • im diving there next summer in 2008...im so nervous of those poisunous fish and stingrays and all that dangerous stuff lol

  • i think the suit is poison proof!

  • HAHA is he trying to sound Australian TEHE....

HE SUCKS!?! we dont sound anything like that

  • it is the greatest feat of nature... the coral reef. someday i will go their

  • Good to know that a South African visitor has come to love our reef. Please tell your friends about it too.

  • It includes...blablabla, green blue yellow, my goodness what a lame-ass. He sounds like a South African trying some accent that vaguely resembles an Australian.

  • It includes... bla bla bla... what a boring dude, he sounds like a south african trying to fake an australian accent, how lame...

  • Great footage, I had a snorkelling holiday there and just got back yesterday. It is exactly like that. Except whoever is narrating is doing a very poor imitation of an Australian Accent
