  • hey i notice before you push press or power jerk, you dip down violently and fast, i find that whenever i do this the bar bounces around even when secured on the shoulders, have you ever thought about dipping down smoothly and securely then jerking or pressing explosively, i just notice this among the chinese weightlifters doing push presses

  • I do have a tendency to rush the dip. It used to be a HUGE problem on jerks, and the bar would actually separate from my shoulders on the way down. I've gotten a lot better, but it's still a concern...

  • You seem to be stronger than before - easy power cleans and relatively speaking those are strong push presses

  • Thanks. I've been doing more overhead work than ever before. Since I haven't been able to snatch or clean heavy, I figured it would be a fun thing to do! And the bar has to get in position somehow, so powercleans have been a nice addition to the program as well :)
