@ asherdsz1984.. its absolutely NOT to late to start the cello at 25.. if u have passion for it u should never let age deprive you of what you want. My advise to you would be to go ahead and play the cello and enter the world of music, its a fantastic instruments(one of my personal favorites as well) and it will surely open new amazing doors into your life.

For all who are thinking to buy a cello but can 't afford it, there is a good argument to convince your parents to help out or to reconsider yourself. If you buy a proper cello and take care of it reasonably well, it's value will not degrade. as far as I know this goes for hand made cellos violins, violas and basses. over time the materials should harden out and increase the tone quality, there for it's overall value will go up.

A ( proper ) cello won't be a single spending, but long term invest
