Unless they can use some people with similar voices to the originals and actually use the same humor from that time, then yes it may pass, but it doesn't have any of that. The impression I'm getting from Tom & Jerry Tales is that it tries too hard - FAR too hard - to be a kids' cartoon. That being said, I'd pick this over most modern cartoons, and I'd go so far as to put this on about the same level as the Chuck Jones era of Tom & Jerry.

If there's anything I'd find offputting about Tom & Jerry's progression, it's Jerry making more and more sound as the years have gone on. (This is also the one reason I hated the Mucho Mouse episode from the earlier years.)

No No No No No No. I managed 4 minutes and im really but this should not be allowed. Tom and Jerry should never have been revamped and modernised. It has absolutley ruined it. For gods sake listen to Tom's yelp of pain, or Jerry's a-oo-w-ga. It just isn't right. @luckystar60 Uhm, not precisely. If the modernized Tom and Jerry were that bad, then it wouldn't have that many views or likes. I myself think Tales is pretty damn hilarious at times.Not because my sense of humor stinks, but because my eyes and brain tell the truth.

Also, why wouldn't they modernize it? Change is good. Besides this is 2012, not the 1900.

@luckystar60 I understand that this is definitely weaker (for one thing, they obviously toned down the slapstick to meet modern standards and we have mainly the silent humor to go on), but believe me when I say this is GOLD compared to the 1992 Tom and Jerry movie.
