What a hypocritical society. We keep selling alcohol, cigarettes, and then cry foul because of the direct results. It will continue to perpetuate bad behavior as long as they are readily available.
And to think they want to be able to sell booze in corner stores like 7-11 or Mac's. If that happens, DUI's will shoot through the roof. As if they weren't already high enough. :S
What the heck's going on up there in Suds with all the DUI's? I was up there last month on the weekend of Cambrian's open house and ended up downtown at a few of the bars. Around 2am they caught some idiot driving the wrong way down Larch, right around the time that I was on that street. - I read about it the next morning on the Star's website.
This seems to be an almost daily thing where someone gets nailed for DUI.
I think what is happening is the police are doing a good job asking people to call 911 if they suspect a drunk driver. The numbers are very sad, but we are all doing our part to get the message across that Drinking and Drinking is a dumb idea. If that message can affect just one person, it's one less drunk driver.
