  • Oh yeah! ... but I love the version on your CD even better ... thanks Keni

  • @Wats4Crick Thank you for your comment and purchase. Well, this is a look "behind the scenes" type of woodshedding Bill and I would do to prepare for the studio. Not to mention, we added a little bit of that recording studio magic to make it extra special. How can you beat Jackie's rant too! Enjoy.

  • DANG!! that was great!

  • I`m working on making an electric Resonator with the same dimentions and wiring as a Gretsch Falcon including the Jonses. I am having trouble working out the suspension of the pickups but will work it out. A platformed bridge is likely. Should be interesting when completed.

  • Please post a video when it is completed. I would love to see and hear it. Best wishes for a successful build!

  • Will do but will be a while. I have been working on it for about 18 months. This is my first attempt at making a guitar from zero and often feel as if I`m over my head. Not to mention the parts expense. I did buy a complete replacement neck and headstock to simplify things. It is still a challenge. Running into the chicken before the egg dilema regarding pickups.

  • Take your time. Don't rush, enjoy the experience. You are learning a lot about building as you go along. In the end, things will work themselves out. Remember, if things really go bad, do what I do with all my projects, put a couple of notches in it, and tell everybody its an ashtray. lol.

  • fucking AWESOME. are those nationals?

  • Thank you. Bill's guitar(on the left) is an early reproduction National Resophonic Tricone, and my guitar is a 1935 National 14 fret Duolian.

  • Why the foul language???

  • How long do you play to dobro?

  • I started playing country blues guitar back in 1984 while I was in the US Air Force. Later starting about ten years ago I started to go to seminars and attended guitar camps at Columbia Univ. NYC.

  • Wow, very sweet. Beautiful guitars, too. I went to go pickup a resophonic guitar last year, but accidentally fell in love with a tobacco sunburst Simon & Patrick cutaway dreadnaught while I was in the store... what are you gonna do... we have so little control in these things.

  • Thank you. I know what you mean. I own only a few regular acoustic guitars, but I keep buying and selling my resonators because it's always fun to find a new rider.

  • awesome

  • Thank you.

  • Rocks!!! So far Eric Clapton's version has been my fav, gotta think about that !!!

  • This one also appears on the CD. I hired a professional saxophone player. She is amazing. There is also drums, they give it a driving beat.

  • Sax? wow, that's interesting.

  • And uh... sorry bout this , but could you please tell me around what time in the video does the "classic Keith shuffle" thing happen?I can get the stones feel but I cant identify the exact part where it almost reminds me of Keith himself!

  • Keith played in open G on tunes like Brown Sugar and Honky Tonk Women. He removed the low E string because it got in the way of hitting the tonic note on the A string (the A string is tuned to G in open G). He played a 5 string guitar. He would bar across all the strings and hammer on with two fingers in a c chord form. This is the shuffle. This technique is also used in Start Me Up.

  • And uh... sorry bout this , but could you please tell me around what time in the video does the "classic Keith shuffle" thing become prominent?

I can get the stones feel but I cant identify the exact part where it reminds me of Keith himself!

  • WOW !!! Those are 2 beautiful guitars and one confused dog !! Haha.. no but seriously that was very well done.

Yes it was very Rolling Stones-ish...

I like the way you've upped the tempo of this song a bit .. sounds a lot more bluesy than the Stones version!

  • Thank you. I am currently recording a CD. On the studio version there are Drums and Saxophone. Without the dummer, it is very easy to get flying on this tune.

  • That's great !

  • Thank you.

  • That's what I'm talkin bout!

  • Thank you. Nothing but the blues!

  • Thank you. Stay tuned. Next recording session, Bill and myself are going to play two old latter braced Stella guitars. Real old school stuff.

  • viva ,ken & bill you just made the sun shine through my back door!! regards bluespower..
