@SuperKONR That sucks! My Homelite is a great trimmer it's got about 50 hours of use on it and I took it apart a bit yesterday and the piston has not even a mark on it. I guess I just got lucky with mine.

My old Homelite engine has been used a lot over the years, but I think after dialing in the carburetor & retweaking my original installation design, it'll make a fine bicycle engine. Don't think it'll do much on hills, but if where you live is flat, it'll go faster than I'm going to govern it.
I just bought a Homelite 26CS about a week ago. This replaced my 6 year old Homelite 26cc curved shaft. The new engines are leaned out even more than the older ones. I don't like the clutch on the new one, would rather have direct drive as before. The older motor is powering a 26 in. tire Huffy mtn. bike. I just rigged it today. Roughed it in actually. But I was surprised. Mine is simple friction drive, direct drive, but as soon as the motor kicked in I felt a difference. I'm only looking to go.
@Kpilot786457 I think the bell is made of aluminum or something. You could drill a small hole through the bell and the sprocket and bolt it on, then make another hole with a blot for alignment but it would have to be a strong bolt.
@Kpilot786457 haha nice! I've had a bunch of these, they don't have much power for motorbike use unless you gear it down to like 1:20 gears. I would get a chainsaw engine, MUCH easier to use, comes with a sprocket and everything. Mine never worked, you either need to make a clutch bell mount and cut up the shroud, or mount the whole thing WAY over to the right on the bike on those engines. But they are fun to mess aroun with lol. Good luck on your project!
Those trimmers have a china brand carb, and take off the choke next time and maybe it will start.

@Kpilot786457 they do, but they don't have a sprocket on it. You have to grind off the end and weld one on.
