I get where Freddy is coming from. Firefighting is a physically taxing job, and no matter how eager, or how energetic, there come's a time when a person is just tired of it. It takes its toll physically as well as emotionally. I was shocked when he said he was 25...cause he looks 40. Its important that firefighters know their limitations, and adjust accordingly. This isnt a regular 8 to 5 job where you can come in and half ass. And Busy houses are known to break people...
What that Lieutenant needs to understand is that to HIM, a Firefighter/EMT, this call is a bullshit, nonsense call that is just a "waste of time". But to the patient, it's something significant, otherwise they wouldn't have dialed 911. Firefighters may go on thousands of these calls and they have the training and understanding to know what's severe and what's not. A civilian may only go through this a handful of times at best and does not have the same know-how to differentiate the two properly.

yup, unfortunetly the fire service has merged with ems in alot of places, Dont get me wrong, I am a firefighter because i want to help people, I will be getting my emt soon so I am eligible to work for a full time department, but that doesnt mean im gonna like doin ems work. so I dont mean to sound like an ass like some of you are calling this guy, but i just believe the fire department should handle fire calls, and ems should handle ems calls, and police should handle, well, police calls
Yes clearly questioning the need to send firefighters out to baby sit someone with a sprained ankle among other nonsense dozens of times a day makes one an "asshole". Serving does not imply being a mindless drone not allowed to express descent. u would hate it in az cause they come out b4 the ambo does for anything and everything breathing problems. i got into a car accident on dec6 and the medics sat in the front and 2 ff sat in the back with me and my sister so honestly i dont see the point in the medics if the ffs do evrything out here
