  • "pre-wrapped party pack" that looked more like a single serving to me. I do 10kg of wing at a time and there is rarely any left at the end of the night.

  • 9:28 - 10:19

God this man is so hot.

  • Jungle Chickens are kind of adorable ...

  • Omg!!! He turned off the sun 8:00

  • my quest to make oven wings crispy continues...

  • its funny how hes shaking the chicken around while he's talking, the thing is probably gettin pissed

  • Gotta say...

I love this show, but this is BLASPHEMY. Bogus, disgusting, reproachable!

The ONLY way to cook hot wings is frying, case closed. What's next? Microwaved pancakes?

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 better wings by baking. : )

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 Have you not been in the freezer section of your local megamart recently?

  • Great lord Alton! I pray to thee! Show me the ways of wing greatness!

  • Who could Dislike this? 0-o

  • its the fucking A-Team

  • @fastasthewind3 I will kill you.

  • @Addictedgamer1 okay calm down, geez whether u like it or not its the truth

  • @fastasthewind3 Opinion =/= truth.

  • He only recommended drying them in the fridge first when he wanted to cook them all the way in the oven people!

The wings he put in the steamer are not dried first, they don't look even remotely dry

  • ahh im hungry

  • I LOVE when Alton builds!

  • @kdbennett2009 He's like the kitchen Macgyver!

  • @chumanho i think the music is spoofing the A-Team music

  • Alton said that the end of the wing is somewhat useless. i disagree. i do the same cooking technique with the end as he does with the drummet and it becomes sort of like a chicken pork rind, minus the pork.

  • @wanazu123 I'm sorry, sir. You are wrong. Alton Brown said so.

  • 3:01 LOLOL

  • @ 9:39 = Good Eats meets the A-Team! Love it! My wings are in the steamer a I type. I can't wait to see how this method turns out.

  • just fry them w ho the hell is going to do all tht work steaming then recooking

    they even taste better fried

  • @ariownts123 Because it's a waste of oil? He already explained it, chicken wings have enough fat to essentially fry themselves. Sure you can take the easy route and deep fry them like most people but if you want to refine it more then you can do this. Nobody said you had to do it this way, everyone has their own recipe.

And to answer your question, I did all that work, and it tasted better, kthx.

  • Anyone else notice that he recommends getting the chicken bone dry, yet cooks them first by steaming? I love his food and show, but something about this seems...excessive.

  • @InspectorGadget923 The idea behind the steaming is to gently melt the fat off of the wings because it creates a lot of unnecessary smoke in the oven and gets in the way of an extremely crisp skin, since moisture and crispiness don't go hand in hand together.

  • @Zephilindrum What I'm saying is why do they need to be bone dry when he steams them, I get why he steams them and why they should be dry for the oven, but not why they must be dry for steaming.

  • @InspectorGadget923 Because it would have more moisture if you didn't dry it out first before steaming? God knows.

  • apparently most foods i cook is from good eats

  • stuffed mushrooms at a bar????

  • @hsuanstr In Chicago yeah, great stuffed mushrooms or deep fried mushrooms.

  • lol at 3:03

  • QUESTION: He says he recommends steaming because just cooking them in the oven produces too much smoke. Why is this a problem? Does it affect the flavor of the chicken if there's smoke?

  • @cmalchik well smoke, especially the amounts produced when cooking this amount of chicken at once, will not only give the wings and odd flavor, but airing that much smoke from a home kitchen is a pain.

  • @cmalchik yeah preaty much

  • @cmalchik It sets off the smoke alarm and stinks up the house. And yes it makes the chicken taste odd

  • I fucking love Khadgar, Like the hat, and GoodETV.

    Seriously.

  • humerus bone! ahahahahha

  • he has such a nice workstation.

  • i love this show!

  • "Isn't it nice to be named after the way you're gonna be cooked?" Giggity! :)

  • @leftdownwind420 He's obviously in the back of the plane XD

  • Yes but fried food is bad no matter how delicious and orgasmic they are. :(

  • Not frying Buffalo Wings!? I love ya Alton, but you are dead wrong on this one. A Buffalo Wing is fried.

  • @SinfoniaSam No "rule" of cooking is set in stone, you can alter and experiment with anything

  • heh I need one of those fans for when my sister cooks :P

  • I have been looking, and looking, and LOOKING...

WHERE CAN YOU GET A BONING KNIFE!?!? xD

  • 8:07 Turning off the electricty removes sunlight from the windows, D:?

Holy crap, his switch controls the SUN!

  • That's because Alton Brown is secretly God.

  • It's not a secret. Not everyone has been converted yet.

  • Look, what else would happen if you are solar powered and blow a fuse?

  • @flickeries Alton Brown is the Chuck Norris no one knew about.

  • @flickeries This is why he is a Food God! Just one of the benefits.

  • @flickeries So that explains why the sun sets everyday. The earth doesn't rotate, Alton goes to bed

  • @TwistedEchoX that makes him more powerful than Chuck Norris

  • @niceworkmicrosoft Alton Brown's freezer runs at -22 degrees.....KELVIN!

  • @flickeries It's an indoor set. Maybe the "house" lights are on the same switch as the set lights.

  • @flickeries AB is just that awesome

  • OMG MacGyver!

  • Evolution. A good thing. I love chicken. I'm sure, if I was around to cook them, I'd love dinosaur, also. Yummy! Buffalo Raptor legs! Sounds good, eh?

  • Come to think of it Ive never had an animal i didnt like. Ive eaten Rattlesnake, Grasshopper in Thailand But i have a list of vegetables i dont like at all.

  • Reminds me of a saying I read recently, "If Eve were Chinese, we would still be in Paradise--She would have eaten the snake instead of the apple."

  • I'm not sure I understand. I am however, still amused.

  • good luck getting close to one and not being surrounded by its friends

  • Since it's the Future, we'll likely soon get some cloned dinosaurs for meat.

  • hey he was from Season 1. Wow he barely aged at all. Of course I think he looks more professional in this shot than on a tractor.

  • "and to think, you were gonna pay a butcher for that

    SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMEEEE!"

    i love alton

  • 3:03 poor chicken lol

  • I LOVE ALTON BROWN!!!!

  • did anybody actually make that steaming rack?

  • I like it when Alton goes, "That looks like a 'chicken' chicken".

I grew up with REAL "Wings"! I'm a native of Niagara Falls, NY (which is by Buffalo).....so I know my "Buffalo Wings". YUMMY! Real Wings, Real Pizza, Ted's Hot Dogs, Sponge Candy, Loganberry Drink....ahhhh, memories! Nice, heavenly, edible memories!

  • Wow...he broke the suns circuit at 8:00...

  • and he has the cicut breaker box for the sun in his basement at 8:18

  • Hehe, point. ;)

  • I like the chicken sounds in the song. lol 6:03

  • I made these wings and they were delicious, I just came up with my own sauce. I highly recommend you set it in the fridge as directed. Steam all of them just like he did, you dont want the wings stacked up on each other, trust me!

You also want to make sure you let them set in the fridge again after they're done steaming. Make sure you have a cooling rack, or else the wings will just sit in their own juices when drying in the fridge for the second time, or when you throw them in the ove.

  • Overall if you do things like he did, You will come out with some wings with very crispy outer skin, and the inside will be so tender. Best wings I have ever made.

  • Alton's Fryer killed the sun!

  • Holy crap, that A-Team take on the Good Eats theme!

Damn, now I'm imagining Alton riding in Chuck's Turkeymobile with Paul, W ... aaaaand B.A. "Bacarus" Brown sporting bling.

Perpetuating the greatest food fights mankind will ever see.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught the A-Team twist.

  • lol on the xray it says 29th november 2007. My best friend's birthday's on the 29th of novemba 1997

  • i hope these wings are good, i'm gonna make them saturday

  • haha, that poor man-handled chicken

  • I'm not so sure about buffalo wings and hot wings being the same thing. Most buffalo wings i've eaten tasted like one part chicken wing and thirteen parts sweet sauce with a touch of Tabasco. Is it such a crime to want the goddamn grocery store hot case to use less sauce or to serve the sauce separately? IS THAT SO WRONG?!

    ...

Then again a pound of chicken wings from the meat section costs about one third of the hot case price...

    ...

Alton Brown is now my god. Sorry Lord Dracula and L.

  • AB probably just didn't want to get into the details. Like how in the pretzel episode he gives an inaccurate description of pH: he cuts some scientific corners occasionally to get his point across to a larger audience. Still an excellent episode, though.

  • Big bulb in that oven.

  • Good Drinks Bar! Yes!

  • I love it when he goes all McGiver

  • haha i know what you mean. You should watch him when he was on Letterman

  • MacGyver. Everyone spells it wrong xP

    Even i did.

  • wow hes really rockin the vest in the begining oh lala

wat instrument does he play? guitar i think?

  • omg i loved the a team it was a show in the 80's da da da da dum dum

  • there was an a team refrence in this part

  • i really like the wing tips i think they rule

  • yes he is

    DISCARD! lol

  • is alton actually flying??

  • Yes...he actually has his aviator license

  • Well, I know he was going to classes for them

  • yeah. alton does basically everything that has ever or could ever be considered badass.

  • He needs to become a lumberjack

  • he already IS a lumberjack...assembled in a lab from lesser lumberjacks.

did you see the episode where he made maple syrup??

  • what kind of paper does he use to replace the paper towel at :52 ? im new to cooking

  • At :52? Oh... you mean in part 2 of this episode. He's using "Parchment Paper" it's kinda like butcher paper only it's been impregnated with silicone. It's non-stick and can take high oven temperatures without bursting into flames or melting like wax-paper.

  • @Buuurla Parchment paper.

  • nice The "A" Team...lol

  • "Oh, you've gone and touched it with your chickeny hand! You moron! I'm out of here!" -the Refrigerator Gnome

That was the funniest thing I've heard all day! Alton Brown is the funniest chef I've ever seen!

  • Yeah... that gave me a laugh too.

  • Actually Bernoulli's theory does not explain most of the lift generated on a wing. Simply enough, when any flat surface tilt at an angle it will deflect air downward, thus gives you lift.

  • Not quite. Directing the air downward does produce a thrust in that direction, but the lift is actually produced by a difference in air pressure. The the pressure increases under the wing and decreases on top when it is held at a certain angle. The flat surface of the wing gets caught in the air moving through this pressure change, and thus moves towards the lower pressure (up).

    UCSD Mechanical Engineer

  • A 747 at 20,000 feet would have to direct said air an AWFUL long way downward to create enough thrust to keep the plane in flight. Thrust vs. Lift.

  • Dang. That song that was playing when he was making the triple steamer is awesome.

  • Awesome! Wings!
