Apparently, when Toonami was cancelled, CN lost like a quarter of their ratings. If you're the head of a tv channel, and one day you suddenly lose 25% of your ratings, would you:

a) Throw it under the bus and say "We'll get 'em back, we just need to air sh*t for these retards",

b) Panic and do everything in your power to get it back and apologize,

c) Quit.

Fuck that, I'm 21 and all the alcohol in the world doesn't stop the hurt of when I hear the old music and Tom's voice. I know there are alot of us who grew up on Toonami. It popped our anime cherries at a young age. I know when I get older I'll wish my children could've experienced that joy of hearing Tom's voice right before a new episode of DBZ or Rurouni Kenshin or Yu Yu Hakusho or Gundam Wing. From all of us 90's kids, rest in peace our old and dear friends. We love and miss you dearly.

man im 17 i started to watch toonami around tom 2. i didnt see the last toonami episode because i didn't have a tv(we were moving) so i found out the hard way by setting down for my favorite show and it never came on. i was so pissed when i found out. its not even worth watching anymore without toonami. i remember bussin my ass rushing home from school just to watch toonami especially gundam wing and DBZ. Or staying up really late for the more hardcore episodes. had to turn the volume really low trying not to wake my parents, then the next day couldnt even get up for school.

Well the next best thing after Toonami was 'ADULT SWIM' but they dont even show THAT anymore....well at least in the Caribbean.

@rocketman5989 Ratings killed toonami. Also, CN was now under new management which decided to end the block in favor of other programing. Williams street (the guys who worked on Toonami) along with other staff have moved on to work on different programs or moved to other branches in CN. No, Toonami is gone forever. Fans have been petitioning for the block to return for 3 years, nothing has happenned. some fans have made their own toonami blocks of their own to either reboot Toonami or relive it.

Gundam, Outlaw star, cowboy bebop, big 0, tenchi, real adventures of johnny quest, inuyasha, neo evangelion, batman, kenshin, blue sub 6 . I still pop in the dvds on weekends. Feels great but its not like the old days... staying up late with the tv down low to not wake the parents. Sometimes had to set the timer on vhs player to record the shows on school nights. All good things come to pass but its better to have had than not
