To be honest XP sp2 os the best in my opinion sp3 is a useless update and it's resource hog thumbs up to let anoying with SP2 to stick with it, SP2 FOREVER!!!!!

go to google and type in download windows xp service pack 3 and search 1st link down click it and it brings you up to the new version of windows xp service pack 3

Some of this stuff is pretty neat... Still, it just can't compare to real beryl/compiz... It's not half as smooth, plus no wobbly windows = no deal. I've only seen one app that does that on windows and even that one looks stiff. Anyway, compared to default windows desktop that's pretty cool.

@ Mr. fladitt, Windows Vista IS GOOD, but after using it 0.5 years, IT MAKES YOUR COMPUTER A HELL. It eats up almost ALL of your system recourses! XP stays stable for a long time on A HELL LOT OF COMPUTERS. And Windows 7? Windows 7 is just a masterpiece. ( You need to get used to it, but it rocks if you get used to it, amazingly fast. )

All the programs I saw used were CubeDesktop (3D cube), Madotate (window door effect), WindowBlinds (possibly), and a generic dock app I haven't used before (I use objectdock and rocketdock).

yeah i have an xp media center pc and a vista basic pc (which should run faster) i ran halo on both machines and the media center was the fastest by far and they were both the exact same type of computer

overall though, Vista is better than XP. Simply for the reason that Vista has DirectX 10, where as XP can only go up to DirectX 9. So if you're a gamer then XP is out of the question seeing as all the new games require DX 10.
