  • I wish my father would think the same way as he says.

  • james hetfield's secret life as a professional

  • I am beginning Full Sail later this month. For those of you who say it is a waste of money and a waste of time, you've got no sense of faith in yourself or anyone else. Either your time at Full Sail was not used to your absolute full potential, or you never even tried. If you have a dream to work in the industry, follow it through education and the mentor your teacher will become.

Let’s pretend Marshall Mathers never picked up a pen

Let’s pretend things would’ve been no different

    Genius.

  • Also, I will be posting videos every week once I begin, the content of which will be chronicling my progress and experience. If Full Sail University really is or isn't worth it, then my videos will expose the truth of it either way. Be sure to subscribe if you care. My classes start June 27th.

  • Music production.

  • I just enrolled in Full Sail University and I begin in June. To the people talking shit about this school, I have one thing to say. Maybe if you spent the time and passion you clearly have against this school trying to improve yourself and let other people make their own mistakes in life, you'd probably be doing a lot better for yourself, and your education would be worth something.

  • @Waveomancer what are you majoring in?

  • @Waveomancer what major?

  • @Waveomancer I'm dropping out buddy. By the end of November, why because its a scam, a fake school. A waste of money and will put you in great debt by the time you graduate. Oh and buddy I have a 3.73 GPA as of right now and I'm in Month 4. Fuck Full Sail !

  • there are 1001 things that he didn't mentioned about the 90% of the students that have graduated and didn't get a job

he only spoke of the good ones, not a very good review

  • @airbornex13 No sweat. The important thing is to research like crazy and decide for yourself if it's right for you. Be real about your financial situation and parse what pro and con reviewers on line are REALLY saying about the school versus their individual situations.

  • This guy is clear what hes talkin bout'

  • (pardon my typo... I meant Martin "Tike" Santos)

  • The tuition is not worth what you will make in the REAL industry. Thats IF you can actually find a job when you "graduate". Plus their accreditation is worthless. BTW, you can access all the software they use from your home computer

    piratebay > Full Sail

  • @FoxifiedNutjob Those who land gigs after graduating Full Sail are the ones who put the time in, learned the software, polished their chops and formed a network of industry leads.

Also, their accreditation is not worthless. Sure, it's not Harvard, but it's better than it was when I attended from 2002-2003.

Could you post a website or demo of your work? You're obviously are a successful individual in one of the media industries. Please, share your work or shut your mouth.

  • @tcf098 You are full of shit. You guys reply with BS and never lay out a case for the propaganda you're spewing. Where are the success stories? Where are the successful case? Thousands of graduates, millions of dollars and still I can find one real success story coming from this "institutions' Oh, and go ahead, name one credible college that will accept FS "accredation". I won;t hold my breath.

  • @FoxifiedNutjob As for other success stories, feel free to check out Darren Bousman, Kip Gire, Gary Rizzo, Marc Fishman, Ric Viers, Leslie Brathwaite, Kristifer Klein, Matin "Tike" Santos, Steve Cainas, Steve Switaj, or any number of others readily researchable on the web.

  • @FoxifiedNutjob OK douchebag, lay out success stories of any college or universities for us. All educational institutions are the same... some people do well, some don't. FullSail has plenty of industry veterans and success stories among those who don't pan out. The problem is that Full Sail admits anyone as long as they can get a loan, and some of those people fail or do poorly because they aren't prepared to be adults or function in a demanding environment. You are among the latter group.

  • @tcf098

Hey, why even reply if you can't answer the question? All that drivel you wrote and you couldnt come up with ONE successful case study?!

"wait, wa, i'm sorry what was the question?"

    ...moron

  • @FoxifiedNutjob You are blind. Go to the Full Sail Hall of Fame page.

THEY ARE ALL CASE STUDIES IN SUCCESS STORIES YOU SIMPLE-MINDED FREAK!

  • Full Fail University

  • Oh my god. This school is a joke. I learned almost nothing at this school in a year and learned a ton working in a real studio for a month.

    Don't go here.

  • ha theres programs for 7k that u get the books and they get someone who works in a studio to work with you in it at your own pace.

  • Thanks for the good times Gary, FS class of 1983.

  • A degree from ANYWHERE has never guaranteed you a job. You have to go get one yourself. I thought school was about learning.. and attaining knowledge.

  • @fuzzbaker It is about learning and attaining knowledge but when you go to meet with your placement adviser they make it sound like studios are going to be falling over themselves to hire you. What they don't tell you is that they will hire you as an unpaid intern with almost no chance of getting a job. Even if you do get a real job in a studio, the music business has been hurting bad for the past 10 years, it won't pay much and you will need to get another job to pay full sail back.

  • @fuzzbaker

It is, and that is what full sail does very well. Rather than learning bullshit stuff you will never use again, Full Sail focuses on subjects that you will use for the rest of your career and emphasizes on those subjects. Full Sail isn't the only school that does this. This is a school for people that know what they wan't to do. Not for people that just take a number of random classes because they don't know what to do with their lives. Everyone at full sail loves what they do.

  • Rip off... don't go there if you want to do it go fucking do it.

Full sail made realise what I wanted and tomorrow I'm leaving for a session, who made that happen? Me!!

  • starting in about 2 weeks for Digital Arts & Design!!

  • I went to FULL SAIL. RA GRAD DEC. 07'.

    I interned in a studio.

    I got album Credits.

BUT I'M FUCKIN BROKE NOW, AND HAVE SALLIE MAE BREATHING DOWN MY BACK EVERY SECOND.

    Come on CAREER DEVELOPMENT.

HELP ME FIND SOME WORK BITCH!

  • full sail is a scam!!!

  • Having an overall knowledge of how the tech works from the moment you get your entry-level break accelerates your growth in the industry. Learning on the job is okay --- but I shaved a good five years of grunt work off my career by using what I'd learned here, well offsetting what I'd spent to attend. Full Sail's isn't the only decent program in the world, but I was incredibly happy with my experience there and am quick to recommend it when asked.

  • @StoryTroy and how much are you making a year? Whats you "success" story? How much do you still owe in loans? What successful projects have you worked on and how much money did they make you?

  • @FoxifiedNutjob Happy to oblige, to a point. While my exact income is no one's business but my own, I feel comfortable sharing that I'm doing just fine. I am well regarded within my field, working some 40-50 weeks each year. You can find my credits by searching the web for Troy DeVolld.

I hope you aren't of the mind that I'm some sort of shill for the University. I know a great many successful graduates, but also empathize with those having a tough go post-graduation. Hard world out there.

  • @StoryTroy what about their vdeo game design class is that any good?

  • @airbornex13 I don't know much about that program... I'm strictly a film/tv guy, and one who graduated fifteen years ago at that. They're in the Princeton Review's Top 50 Game Schools, and GamePro rated them one of their Six Game Design Schools to watch. There are plenty of individual pro/con reviews all over the net --- I suggest you check reviews from folks who have been out a couple of years (the first few years in any profession are usually tight, prompting newer grads to be extra-gripey).

  • @StoryTroy Ok thanks for the help

  • Garry Jones Rocks. He is a creator of visions and dreams to reality. I am quite impressed with this University.

  • it IS difficult but ,its worth it .because there you can be the best of the best in a short period of time .

  • 2010. Computer Animation. Can't wait!

  • ill be there in 2012. sadly im only a freshman in high school.

  • @bisbis11474 Stay away from it. It's not worth the money and there arn't any jobs in this industry

  • As a successful FS grad..I'll tell you this is SPIN, SPIN, SPIN... Take the classes but DO NOT go for the expensive degree.. The degree is useless... I know.. I'm now that guy who hires and fires.. I get a Full Sail Grad and I grill the crap out of them because most of them are ill prepared.. It's a fact.. Spin, Gary..spin..

  • I am currently enrolled at Fullsail University, and I must say so far it has been a great experience, I have never had such caring instructors, who bring a great deal of knowledge to the classrooms.

  • well said....i will b there in "09"

  • I'm at columbia college chicago

  • no offense, but you can get a much better education in recording arts and video production at a college located right down the street. you'll be wasting 10's of thousands of dollars on an education where you have a VERY limited time to learn what you are there for. you can use that money for something like....a studio!

  • That might be true in some instances but at a regular college they take your money by putting you into all kinds of unnecessary classes before you can actually start doing what you went there to do...i'm not saying this school is the best but as far as i know and from my research it's more hands on than the college down the street but hey that's my opinion.

  • It's quite the opposite. ...Just speaking from experience. Listen to Blit67. He speaks the truth.

  • I will be there in 2009! (I am going to a tour in November.) :)

  • me too. c u there
