You should have something that works on multiple platforms for the first tutorial. This only works on Windows. (Im not a Mac user)

compiler error in both Visual Studio 2010 and Dev C++

Looks like a mistype on your part .. Like probably most similar problems in such tutorials .... (Have you written 'MessageBoxW' somewhere for example?)
