And the Ultima's are not at all what I would consider a real "production" car. They're basically custom built track cars. Throw a Porsche GT-1 on there and see what happens to that record.

@bigbadboydy Before telling people to do their homework you should do your own. The Carrera GT and the GT1 are two completely different cars. The latter was a mid-90's prototype sportscar which got first and second place at Le Mans in 1998.

It's actually a 720bhp chevy v8, from a company called "American Speed". It's one of the engine options for the GTR (incidentally, it's not the most powerful they offer!).

I would say it is as practical as all other supercars. Take a ride in one and see for yourself the Ultima is a road car. And 10 times cheaper to run and maintain

being pedantic, that's still not the fastest thing round the track; on wheels it's the Renult F1 car and the fastest is the jump jet.

why not get The Stig to test it? they tested the Caparo (which was faster at 1:10.6).

Its a race car with plates. It wouldn't be street-legal in most of the U.S. Why not just put plates on an LeMans cars?
