  • dont worry about those " wanna be know it alls " Daniel those idiots are all over youtube, It would make absolutely no sense for u to take the extra time and effort to set the line, then go remove it. We all know it was there, i swear some people have zero life to be going around trying to nitpick every little detail of others peoples videos! Great video, great technique, great info. Keep em coming.

  • @customcutstreeservic Thanks bro,

Glad to hear someone has some sense.

  • Na dude i have watched this 10 times now. The tree does not even react like there is a rope there. You cant even see it tied onto the tree next to it. Its a good idea in theory sir, until you think about the physics of the application. The angle cut etc is good, have used it for years. But the rope... this was one of the main points of the video and it "doesnt show" if you are trying to teach people things then you have to do it right.

  • @TreeMat how about using a little common sense. the retainer line is clearly set in place in the opening shot. it is clearly in place when the rigging set up is shown. the tree definitely had side lean... with all that set up so nicely WHY would anyone EVER take that safety margin down before making the cut.. I agree that is is completely invisible during the fall and clearly visible other times, for which I have no explanation.. When I get a chance I'll look at the original footage I DON"T LIE!

  • na dude the other rope shows up clear as, i know it was dark rope but it should at least show up when it is hit acoss the drive?

  • @TreeMat don't act like a dumb asssss.. I was there ... the rope was there. You weren't. why is that so hard to believe?

  • Why do you pull the side line out of the tree? When the tree falls you can clearly see the rope is not in there!

  • @TreeMat .. I no longer export in that size and format.. the rope was there, but it just didn't show up on the final screen, most likely due to the loss of clarity in the export.. whoops!

  • Love it bro! I'll be watching more of your stuff. I'm a forman @ Bartlett, haven't been in the industry too long and enjoy learning every day. Thanks!

  • Brilliant, I have lots to learn on shaping hinges to fight side-lean. Hehe, but my teacher would slap me if he saw me using the saw above shoulder height! :D

  • @Mueiwark It was more "at" shoulder height than above.. and I have 30 years of exoerience using a saw. I do not subject myself to the rules that a novice must follow, however do not suggest that less experienced arbs imitate.. take what you can and leave the rest..

  • It's great to see people cutting with chainsaws on youtube that know how to use them for a change. Great vid!

  • Great video, I learned alot :)

  • thank you daniel great video !
