Gorgeous horse and very fast, but that high leg action yall think is so cool, is probably what caused his career ending injury. He is expending more energy with that stride then a racehorse who travels closer to the ground would. If you watch it from the front, and I have, You can see his hooves actually come up level with his chest. Fast but peculiar. I am excited about his stud career, hope he can pass that speed on.

I get really picky about racehorse legs, aka stride length and their knees. This horse has my whole package deal! Long legs, long stride, great knees. If this horse had the chance to go in the SA then the Derby, he would have been unstoppable. I wish we can see more of him.
It's a tough business and when it comes to breezing these horses at a young age, they will generally have problems through out their career. Just take ex-rays on most of them in which a vast majority aren't ossified!
the reason he looks a different color is because gray horses are born chestnut, bay or black and turn gray as they age. here he is much younger and hence, a darker color. he hadnt started greying out much.
----one of my top derby picks. cant wait till derby.
I love his stride, reminds me of turf horses though, which only worries me slightly for the derby. I still reckon he's the winner though =D I always wonder, why do the horses look so fast at the sales?
@PlioCameBack They have a really hard surface... which I hate because the horses are sprinting along it and they're YOUNG, and they could suffer hoof injuries from it.
The Pamplemousse...what might have been...

I think this horse would have a good future as a 4-year-old if he was allowed to race.

Such a shame he was injured. I'd have loved to see him run against Rachel Alexandra and Munnings.
