These probably sound empty to you, but thats to ensure no element is being overlooked... Beats are watered down, and made for rap, and electronic music. HD800's are for ensuring there are no flaws in the music, that's why almost EVERY major studio owns these... Just saying. You get what you pay for with these...

well, i listened to this headphones at the dealer where i bought my grado but these headphones didn't brought to me what i expected. don't get me wrong, to me (not a real audioguy) they sounded very pure and clean but the bass was a bit disappointing but i guess if u play with settings of your music player or stereo u can get heavier bass. but the father of a friend of mine said he heard better earphones but i guess everyone has his or her taste of what is best. he just expected better :P

If you are only into party music, high quality phones like HD800 are NOT for you, better get sth like ATH-m50. The HD800 is for high quality recordings for a clean and smooth, natural sound. It's for listening to your favourite CD in the evening while leaning back closing your eyes. Not for 64kbit youtube techn
