Through my listening of this song, I can see where it could be considered as being taken from the perspective of war AND of school shootings as the lyrics are vague enough to where it'll apply to both. There's no right or wrong answer to the question of "is it about war or school shootings?"; it's more a combination of the two.

I think this song ties in with the name of the band "Offspring". They zoom on the tags on the soldier. He ahs 2 tags; one says the "Offspring" and the other is Infantry ("Infant"ry) Infant is in the word suggesting that kids always pay the most with the coming of war. From 3:00 on, there are always kids working in the place of adults (Tossing nukes and making caskets for the dead soldiers)

No, no and no! This is about FIGHTING THE DEVIL, and the end of the world. No iraq! No school-shootings! Dexter is over there in Hawaii trippin out writing this stuff but he can see the war of environmental degradation, greed over profiteering, and how when annilihation arrives-people bury their heads in the sand and hide behind desks, when there exists a "teacher" who is there to help them survive! This video is so obscure about its' intentions that it becomes perfectly clear in hindsight!

Yeah...its about school shootings. Just kinda depicts how the messed up kids may see it in their heads. That they are doing good, and think they are soldiers. The last stanza makes it somewhat obvious
