  • my first airbrush was a vl...i would recommend if you are having troubles to switch to an iwata, only a few dollars more and work way better, the paashe airbrushes seem so temperamental, probaly due to low quality control, a lot of my problems when I started were due to that vl

  • In my later vid's I'm mostly use my Iwatas. But from time to I'll break out the VL, Mostly for larger areas. I agree Iwata airbrush is better.

  • yea still have my vl...though totally covered in dust..been thinkin' i should pull it out and use that monster large needle (think ita a .75 or .90 not sure anymore)that came with it and try to airbrush with some one shot, had a few times where it woulda been nice to airbrush on something and not have to worry about clearing it

  • @madcuzimFLAGRENT, No, it does not have to be thinned. I have a VL. Createx is a good paint to start out with, it's cheap enough to experiment with. but the smaller the needle and tip, the more clogging may happen.

  • hey ive seen that shirt before! oh ya blake was wearin it tha other day..lol

  • aye, cooool!

  • My Grandma used the same airbrush, along with two Type H's. None of them have been used in 20+ years, I'm surprised they still work. I notice that mine splatters alot, what could I do to fix it? I use it at about 35psi, but the paint is not exactly that new either. Would it be that paint, because it's not exactly airbrush paint.

  • Spattering can come from:

    1) a crack in the tip or bend needle.

    2) Thick paint and clogging.

    3) not enough psi or to much psi

Your psi should be adjusted depending on the surface. I think it like the harder and smoother the lower your psi should go. On fabric 45-50 psi is my preference. When working on canvas or smooth hard surface I adjust mine as low as 25-20.

Use a new needle and tip, if you still have the 20+ year old one.

  • OK, I'll try some things. It could just be from the paint, as I said the paint isn't really Airbrush grade, and not really new either. I did however put on a spare tip inside the gun.

  • cool - just make sure the tip is the right size.

as far as paint, I would just buy some createx airbrush paint from hobby lobby for a few dollars.

So, when we gonna see your airbrush video? :)

  • lol, maybe when I get good enough I'll make one. My brother wants me to paint flames on his go-kart, so that might be an idea. Thanks for the help!

  • That's a pretty wicked job, is it really only the sixth time you used an airbrush? I doubt if I'll ever get that good, you have some pretty nice natural skills there.

  • DAM a PINK VL. I think i'da covered the handle with tape. lol Good job though.

  • LOL! That's what's messed up....the colors on this video are off. That's a Paasche VL, the handle is red. lol, Thanks!

  • I know it's red. lol I was just joking with u man. Nice to know u have a good sense of humor though. lol I have a VL too. The handle is a faded red but the protective needle cap is deep red. Funny thing is i ordered a cutaway handle and its deep red like the dam needle cap. lol

  • go to my channel and look at my bg it look's awesume!

  • Thanks, It's still not my best. Thanks for the high:) rating your awesome dude! I appreciate your friendship! Have a great day!

  • pritty good!

  • Thanks, I'm learning as I go. stay tuned, I just got a better set up. retiring that VL, have Iwata gravity fed hp-c and b now.
