Normally I don't like to classify stuff in genres, but goa trance just can't be insulted!

This is FULL-ON music, a subgenre of the modern psytrance. It's sounds cold, metalic, rolling bassline, almost no arabic melodies, ... Goa trance sounds much more organic.

Full-on artists: DNA, Digicult, System Nipel, Space Buddha.

Goa trance artists: MFG, Filteria, Etnica, Doof, Hallucinogen, Jaia...

I prefer goa trance :)

This is clearly psy trance, NOT GOA TRANCE. The hard rolling bassline, the drums used, the music structure and the hard synth as opposed to the more melodic and clear synths of goa trance....give it way. Psy trance(forgive me, fans) tends to be more alike and less diverse. Goa is much more than psy.

This is not Goa-Trance, this is Full-on Trance (in Israel it is also called "Psycho-Trance"). It was invented by some Israeli artists like Infected Mushoroom and SandMan somewhere in 1999. In Europe the style is also called Melodic-PsyTrance or Isra-Trance. It was very popular in Israel in the years 2000-2002. Unfortunately, this genius style is no longer popular as it used to be.

I produce old-school Goa-Trance music. Maybe I will upload some tracks created by me here in YouTube some day.

Goa Trance was the first type of PsyTrance ever appeared. It's melodic, atmospheric, organic and consists of Mediterranean/Arabic melodies and Hindu/Buddhist elements.

Modern PsyTrance (or Tekk Trance) is nothing but a bunch of annoying noise. It's unmelodic, fast, noisy, agressive and consists of HP kicks (bass drums without bass, so the can be mixed better with fat and agressive basslines) and crazy sounds (noises). All the tracks are the same.

Generally speaking goa is more melodic and has more layers. Also vast majority of psy trance songs have the familiar rolling bassline whereas goa basslines were (and are) more varied. Listen a track by goa masters Crop Circles (for example) and compare it to the one in this video and you will get the idea.
