There is a difference between doing that which you have a right to do, and doing what is actually right to do. Just because the constitution says it is llegal to do something, doesn't make it the the best choice. Building the mosque in this location will obviously anger many Americans, and I don't see why it is necessary to build there. There is a difference between doing that which you have a right to do, and doing what is actually right to do. Just because the constitution says it is llegal to do something, doesn't make it the the best choice. Building the mosque in this location will obviously anger many Americans, and I don't see why it is necessary to build there. Building the Mosque anywhere else would put an end to this feud and strengthen the relationship between American's and the muslim community.

A few blocks away from ground zero, you have a Islamic centre that has been there for many years. They simply want to restore the building, because it has become old.
It is not run by Muslim extremists.
Even if they chose not to fix the building and shut it down, the haters will not be happy until all Mosques in the USA are shut down and all Muslims are made to leave the country.

@ttiiyy Not that this is a good thing or that I condone it in ANY way, but during Pearl Harbor, Japanse Americans were put in camps until we could know who the terrorists were. Given that example, I think asking the Muslims who are building the Mosque to be more respectful and move it elsewhere isn't too much to ask. Yes, they have the right to do it, but is it respectful? Is it kind? It's a small sacrifice for those who lost loved ones.

I agree with Bill about this whole situation, just not that he said Muslims. I think a lot of Muslims do hate Americans, but not all, I'm sure. He said he wasn't trying to demean them, and that's understandable if in the heat of 5 women yelling at him it came out just Muslims and not terrorists or Muslim Extremists.
