I play more sf3, but also put in the fact that there is cheap, and there are good matches. and then there are matches when you obliterate your opponent without being cheap. learn your combos kids.

I agree that it's pretty pathetic to set up specific match conditions like this to give cheap tactics an advantage however there's really nothing wrong with using "cheap" tactics in normal matches. Everything can be countered, and "cheapness" is usually easily punishable as patterns in this game are easy to punish.

i like the whole point about true competitive gamers dont appreciate cheap wins, so true. especially in fighting games. most of the time too if my buddy doesnt know the game moves ill just hold back in whatever fighting game we're playing MK, tekken, soul blade, SF... i always appreciate when the other guy gives me a round to figure out attacks to. I just hate it sometimes when simple jumping and projectiles can win the match. just seems unfair, but a win is a win in a sense.

Custom matches are the way to go. If you're at least a decent player you should know that scrubs do this kind of thing so you would know to go do a custom match.

there's nothing wrong with winning by time out or picking shotos. ryu, ken, and sagat aren't particularly good in this game. they're aren't bad, but they aren't broken. and winning by time out is just part of street fighter. the only cheap thing is setting the match to 1 round 30 seconds.

I mean, your ranking determines what opponents you get.

So, cheating ranks, means getting much stronger opponents, which would not work in your favor, when you are not even suited to beat the opponents on your true ranking.

This would always get me because I wouldn't be paying attention and would be playing like it was a 99 second match... zoning, hit and run, etc. Then all of a sudden, round's over... ugh. I finally just set my criteria to only look for 99 second rounds. One round 30 seconds... it's the stuff of n00bs and I don't think any serious players really enjoy it. ANYONE can get lucky in a 30 second round. Anyone.

Guys GUYS stop playing quick matches, set your custom ranked games to default 99 seconds and 3 rounds and you will only find players using these settings, or create a room, if you do quick match your gonna get the one round 30 second matches (And possibly laggy matches) all the time.
